Chapter 37

I drove towards Sage’s surprise, feeling the unwanted butterflies in my stomach. I don’t know why I was so nervous, I should have been relieved. I was finally revealing the gift that has been years in the making. As long as I could remember, I loved Sage. As I grew up, I knew I always wanted to take care of her, especially when I came into a position of power. I wanted to give her the best life she could have ever had. So, when I turned eighteen, I started building us a house. I bought a large size property in New York, not too far from all of our families. I built the house, keeping our future family in mind. I made sure there was enough bedrooms for all the kids we would create together. I also made sure there was enough rooms for every one of our family members if they ever wanted to stay over or live with us. I wouldn’t even call it a house, it’s more like a castle. A castle for my queen. “Vinny?” Sage called out, “Can I look yet?” I chuckled, knowing she was so persistent when she wanted something. She was sitting in the passenger seat of my Bentley as I drove towards our home. She was blindfolded and I made sure she kept it that way. I didn’t want her to open her eyes until we were standing in our home together. “Can I look now?!” She whined, making me laugh again. She’s been asking that for the past twenty minutes. “Not yet, my love.” I said back softly as I reached out and rested my hand on her thigh. I brushed my thumb in circles, trying to soothe her. “How much longer?” She complained. “A couple of minutes.” I turned down our private road and drove through the iron gates that surrounded our new home. The estate was all stone, giving the place a more Mediterranean vibe than anything. Most of the walls on the inside were made of glass, overlooking the vast and beautiful backyard that was filled with all kinds of flowers and trees I had planted to her liking. There was even a 9-hole golf course in the back-yard, considering her father loved to play golf when he was free. I drove around the fountain and parked the car. “We’re here, my love.” I smiled, feeling so excited to show her what I’ve been working on for us and our future. “You sound excited.” “I am.” I chuckled, “I’ve been wanting to share this with you for so long.” I quickly got out of the car and ran to her side before opening the door for her. I helped her out of the car and led her to our front door. “You’re scaring me Vinny.” She whined, “Seems like you’re leading me to my death.” I laughed before turning back and kissing her cheek. “I’m not leading you to your death.” I mused, “I’m leading you to your surprise.” She giggled as she held onto my hand for dear life and continued to follow me into our house. Once she stepped inside, her high-heels echoed throughout the vast house with every step on the white marble. “Where are we?” Sage curiously asked as I lead her down the hall and into our grand living room. The place was entirely empty, besides the expensive piano Caterina bought for Sage for her birthday. It sat near the fireplace with a big red bow on top. There was also a bearskin rug on the floor in front of the fireplace. There were a couple of jewelry boxes on the rug, along with boxes of chocolate. The fireplace was on and had high flames that warmed the place up, considering it was still winter here in New York. The ceiling of the living room was twenty feet high and even had skylights that were colorful stained glass, adding touches of color when the sun shone down. The back wall of the living room was all glass and overlooked our vast backyard and the Olympic size swimming pool and hot tub that I had designed specifically for our family. “It’s warm in here.” She whispered, “It feels so good.” I hugged her from behind and rested my chin on her shoulder. Being here with her made me feel complete. I looked around, knowing we were gonna build a life here together and I couldn’t be any happier. “Can I look now?” She asked with a little frustration coating her voice. I chuckled, knowing she was impatient. “Yes, you can look now.” I pulled her hair back and off of her shoulders. She reached up and took her blindfold off. I watched as she looked around, not knowing what to say. “Where are we?” She asked as she kept looking around our home. “Home.” I whispered as I delivered a soft kiss to her neck, “I built this home for us and our future family were gonna build together.” She gasped in shock as tears pooled in her eyes. She turned around and looked at me with so much love. “This place is ours?” She whispered as tears dropped from her entrancing eyes. I reached out and wiped them away. “Yes, it’s all ours.” I smiled. She jumped into my arms. I caught her and held her close as she wrapped her legs around my waist. Her arms wrapped around my neck while her hands fisted my hair. She buried her face into my chest and cried. “Why the tears?” I asked as I rubbed her back, “Why are you sad?” “I’m not sad.” She pulled back with a smile on her gorgeous face, “These are happy tears.” I wiped the remnants of her tears and stroked her hair. “Good, because I hate when you’re sad.” She giggled as she bounced in my arms, looking excited. “We have a house!” She squealed, “A f*****g castle!” I chuckled, “A castle for my queen.” Her eyes softened as she leaned in, “I love you Vincenzo Genovese Gambino.” She whispered. “I love you too.” I whispered back as her lips hovered over mine. “Can I have my kiss now?” I nervously gulped as my eyes looked down at her pink plump lips. Her tongue darted out and ran across her lips, wetting them and making them look even more divine. I slowly nodded my head, never taking my eyes off her lips. Before I could lean in, Sage smashed her lips to mine. She took the lead and surprised me with how good she kissed. It was like she did this before. I followed her movement and kissed her back with much rigor, devouring her lips. She slipped her warm tongue inside of my mouth, making my c**k harden in my pants. Our tongues danced together, finding the perfect rhythm. Her fingers dug into my scalp as she pulled on my soft locks, making me go crazy. Her touch was everything to me and it was so hard not to rip off all of her clothes and take her right here. We finally pulled away from each other, gasping for air. Our eyes stared into each others, showing all of the passion and undying love we had for one another. “That was amazing.” I breathed out, knowing that waiting for my first kiss was worth every second. She smiled before she leaned in and pecked my lips. “Am I a good kisser?” She mused, making me nod my head. “So f*****g good.” I rasped out as my eyes looked down at her lips that were red and swollen from our passionate kiss. “I guess all my lessons paid off.” My eyes darted to hers as my possessiveness took over. “Who the hell kissed you?!” I barked, making her laugh. “I practiced with some gay girl in my grade.” My raging jealousy washed away as an amused smile graced my lips. “A girl?” I asked, making her smirk and nod her head. “I can’t say I’m happy about it, but I’m glad it was a girl who had your first kiss.” “I wouldn’t even count it as my first kiss.” Sage mused, “It was research for me. I just wanted to practice so my first kiss with you would be amazing. I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing so I could please you.” My heart softened at her words. “I will always be pleased by you, no matter what.” I confessed, making her smile. She leaned in and pecked my lips softly. I leaned into the kiss, obsessed with the way she tasted and the way her lips felt against mine. I pulled back before walking her over to the bearskin rug and laying her down. “The piano is from Cat, and so is this.” I picked up one of the jewelry boxes and gave it to her. She took it with excited eyes and opened it, revealing a very dazzling pink diamond necklace. Chunky pink diamonds covered the whole necklace, letting me know it was really expensive, but Cat knew what Sage liked. Pink was her favorite color. “It’s beautiful.” She praised as she brushed her fingertips along the diamonds. “This is from Rámon.” I picked up the last jewelry box and handed it to her, “He said he was out of town and couldn’t make it to your party, but he had this delivered to me yesterday.” “How is he?” She asked with a solemn expression. “Not good, but thats to be expected I guess.” She nodded her head, “I don’t think Cat is any better. She’s been partying and trying to drink her sorrows away.” I sighed out, knowing my sister and Rámon needed to talk and try to work things out before they killed themselves. I watched as she opened the jewelry box, revealing a diamond tennis necklace and a matching bracelet with it. Her lips curved into a small smile. “It’s beautiful.” She whispered, “He shouldn’t have gotten me something so expensive.” “Of course he should.” I mused, “He owes you everything since you’re the next queen, my Donna.” Sage’s eyes lit up as her chubby cheeks blushed so sexily. “Donna?” She whispered. “Well of course.” I smirked, “Or do you not plan on marrying me?” “Yes!” She blurted out quickly, “Of course I want to marry you!” I chuckled, seeing how her flushed cheeks turned even redder. I leaned in and kissed her lips before stroking her cheek. “Good, because I want to marry you.” My heart pounded as I prepared to do what I’ve been planning for my whole life. It was time I proposed. The sound of the wood crackling nearby was peaceful as we shared a look of love between one another. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the ring box I’ve been holding onto for a while. Sage’s eyes fluttered to my hand and I heard a small gasp leave her lips. “Is that what I think it is?” She whispered. I smiled, “Maybe.” “Vinny.” She breathed out as tears pooled in her eyes. “Sage Valentina Rossi.” I began, “You have been the love of my life for as long as I could remember.” I smiled proudly as I remembered the fond memories of falling in love with her. “My mother has always told me that when I was a child, I was obsessed with you as a baby.” I chuckled, “She said I looked at you with so much love and care. I believed her, because my soul has always been in love with you.” Her tears fell down her cheeks as she continued to listen to me. “I love everything about you.” I smiled, “No, I’m obsessed with everything about you and I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anybody else but you.” “I want a life with you—a family. I want kids who look like you, running around our home. I want to wake up next to you and come home to you every single night for the rest of my life, because you are everything to me.” I confessed honestly. “You are my world, my sun, my moon, my heart, my soul, and everything in between.” “So please, marry me.” I opened up the ring box and revealed the huge pink diamond ring that was encrusted in dozens of diamonds with a chunky band that was covered in even more diamonds. I had this ring custom made for her, knowing she liked anything pink. She was a princess like that. My pretty princess. “Vinny.” She cried out, “It’s beautiful!” She jumped on top of me, making me laugh. “Is that a yes then?” I asked, making her giggle. “Yes! Yes! Yes!” She yelled out, “A million Yes’s.” She smashed her lips to mine and I welcomed them. I kissed her back with as much passion and love as she put into it. My hands roamed her goddess like body, making her moan into my mouth. I couldn’t help but grab her ass and squeeze it, relishing in the way it felt in my hands. I quickly pulled back, knowing I couldn’t take it any further. “Your hand, my queen.” I held my hand out, waiting for her hand. She finally rested her hand in mine and let me slip the ring on her finger. “Perfect.” I whispered as it slid on perfectly. A huge rock sat on her ring finger and glistened against the light of the flames. It was a perfect fit. “I love you so much, Vinny.” She whispered, “You are my everything too.” “I love you too, my Donna.” I pecked her lips and cuddled into her by the fire. My heart fluttered, knowing this was the end game. I finally had what I’ve been dreaming of for years. Nothing could ruin what we’ve built together.
