Chapter 9

CATERINA’S POV

It’s been two months since my first date with Rámon. Since then, we’ve gone on a date almost every night.

I never thought I’d be this happy in my life— I also don’t think I’ve smiled this much in my life either.

My family has even noticed my change in personality. They want to know what’s making me so happy, but Ramon and I have decided to keep our relationship under wraps.

Well, at least for right now.

If my papa found out we were dating, he would totally kill Ramon— even if we aren’t sleeping together yet.

Rámon is such a gentleman and I never knew he held depths that went further than his ego and smug ways. He’s intelligent and has admirable goals and aspirations. He also has a vulnerable side that is only shown to me.

I love when he talks about his feelings with me and I also love when he talks about parts of himself that aren’t seen by anybody else in the world.

It’s like we share this special bond that intertwines our souls and nobody else is involved or understands it.

It’s beautiful and I will cherish it forever.

“Cat!” Sage yelled out, “Hurry up or you’ll miss the start of the movie!”

I shook my head in amusement as I gathered all of our drinks and popcorn before rushing to our theater room.

You would think they could at least pause the movie for me.

The girls and I were hanging out today. They’ve been complaining about me spending too much time with Rámon and neglecting our friendship.

I can’t say they’re wrong, but I love spending time with Rámon.

Vinny, Rámon and the twins were out of town on business. They won’t be back for a couple of days and I have been going stir crazy not getting to see my man or touch him— or even kiss him for that matter.

I think this is what love felt like— your insides burning alive because the one you loved wasn’t near.

I was in love.

I smiled at that thought, knowing I was deeply in love with Rámon. If I could, I would scream it from the roof tops and let the whole world know.

“Finally.” Sage complained, “I’m hungry.”

She snatched the large bowl of popcorn from my hands while I set down our soda’s.

I swear, Vinny was gonna have his hands full with Sage. She was a character in herself and even then, she held more depth than the crazy side she always showed.

I sat on the couch and cuddled up with the girls. Rowan pushed play and the movie started up on the projector in front of us.

We decided to watch ‘The Notebook’ considering a little romance and unbreakable love could lift up everyone’s spirits.

Sage and I were really lonely without our men being here.

I wonder if Rámon and Vinny felt the same.

After the movie finished, we all wiped our tears. I wasn’t an emotional person, but that movie really got to me.

That movie was another reminder that true love was unbreakable and survived the tests of time.

“That was such a good movie.” Sage sniffled, “I miss Vinny so much.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, earning a punch to my arm. She was just as needy as me when it counted.

“He’ll be back soon.” Rowan giggled, looking at Sage like she was a lovestruck fool. “I think you’ll survive.”

“I won’t!” Sage complained, “I feel like I’m dying from not seeing him or being able to touch him.”

Rowan rolled her eyes as she looked away in disgust. “I hope I never fall in love if it’ll turn me into you guys.”

“What’s that’s supposed to mean?!” I yelled back, feeling offended.

Rowan just laughed as she ignored our antics.

“You’re one to talk” Sage retorted, “You act like we don’t know you’re secretly in love with Gianni.”

Rowan gasped in shock as fear swirled in her big green eyes.

“I am not!”

“You totally are.” I giggled, knowing she totally was.

“Mhmhm.” Sage smirked, “We see you draw him in your sketch book all the time.”

“I also saw a painting of him in your room a couple of months ago.” I chimed in, making her cheeks redden with blush.

“Okay fine!” She yelled out, releasing a heavy breath and looking relieved all at the same time “I’ve been in love with him for years, but he’ll never feel the same way.”

“Oh Rowan.” I whispered, “Why waste your feelings on my brother when you could have anybody in the world?”

“Seriously.” Sage agreed as she rolled her eyes, “Gianni is such an asshole.”

I laughed, making them laugh too.

“He can be a bit of a d**k, but there’s more to him than just his ego.” Rowan assured, making me snort.

“I don’t know what you see in him, but whatever.”

“Mhmhm.” Sage agreed, “That man is annoying.”

Rowan grabbed a couple of kernels at the bottom of our popcorn bowl and threw them at us. We laughed and wrestled with each other on the couch, knocking things down in the process.

“I call a truce!” Sage yelled out as she passed out on the couch, “I’m too tired to fight anymore.”

I laughed as I shoved her feet away from me.

“What do you think the men are doing right now?” Rowan questioned, “Do you think they’re seeing anybody?”

“I wish Vinny would be with another woman right now.” Sage sneered, “I’ll kill him!”

I smirked, knowing she was super possessive over my brother.

“They’re probably at one of our warehouses handling shipments.” I assured, “Or torturing somebody.”

“You sound pretty sure.” Rowan chuckled.

“Well I can only hope.” I said back, “Plus if Rámon slept with somebody else, he knows he’d loose me forever. We made each other promises and I like to think that he’d live up to them.”

“That man is totally in love with you. He doesn’t want anybody else.” Sage chimed in, making me laugh “I mean, he claimed you in front of the whole world at his initiation. How could he choose anybody else?”

“That was such a bold move.” Rowan agreed, “Everybody was shocked, especially the suitors who wanted to make a marriage alliance with your family. Who knew Rámon would get your name tattooed over his heart? So romantic!”

I snorted, knowing I would never make a marriage alliance with another family.

I was marrying Rámon and only him.

Sage sighed out as she looked sad, “I wish Vinny would claim me in front of the world. Or at least kiss me for that matter.”

Rowan and I laughed, knowing their relationship was complicated.

“Vinny is keeping respectable boundaries Sage.” Rowan giggled, “You should give him more grace. I can only imagine how hard it is for him to keep your claws out of him.”

Sage smirked as she winked at us.

“You know me so well.” She mused, “It’s not my fault that Vinny is so sexy and I just want to jump his bones every time I see him.”

“Ugh!” I complained, “Please don’t say that around me!”

“Oh shut up!” Sage argued, “You act like I want to hear about you and Rámon swapping spit and grinding on each other.”

“Sounds like I live a boring life compared to the two of you.” Rowan looked at us in shock, before bursting out into laughter.

“We’ve been telling you this for ages.” Sage retorted, making me laugh. Rowan picked up the throw pillow and hit her with it, making her whine out in a dramatic way.

“It’s okay Rowan. You don’t have to rush into a relationship.” I chimed in.

“Says the one who is already one step closer to losing their virginity.” Sage argued, making me roll my eyes.

“That’s not true.” I argued back, “Rámon and I have an understanding that we wont have s*x until my eighteenth birthday.”

“That’s in three months you b***h!” She yelled back, making me laugh “I have to wait more than a year because Vinny is such a goody-two-shoes.”

“You guys are this eager to have s*x?” Rowan questioned with hesitation, “I’ve heard it really hurts.”

“Pfft.” Sage snorted, “s*x is amazing. Whoever told you that is a hater.”

I shook my head in amusement as I watched the way Rowan looked at Sage as she talked about s*x.

“Have you not touched yourself before?” Sage questioned out to Rowan, “Do you ever watch porn and flick the bean?”

“Flick the bean?!” I complained, “Never say that again you f*****g weirdo.”

We all laughed at Sage and her antics.

“I’m serious though!” Sage yelled out, “Have any of you ever m*********d?”

Rowan and I both shook our heads no. That just made Sage drop her jaw in shock and look at us like we were aliens.

“I’ve been such a bad friend!” She yelled out, “You’ve been totally missing out!”

I rolled my eyes as Rowan blushed and looked away.

“Don’t listen to her Rowan.” I muttered, “Sage is a total freak and her mind is nastier than ours.”

“Oh shut up you bitch.” Sage muttered back in annoyance, “It’s not my fault that I’m more in tune with my body than you are.”

Before I could say anything, Rowan blurted out the craziest thing.

“How are you even supposed to have s*x?”

I wanted to laugh and call her stupid, but as I processed her words, I honestly didn’t even know how to answer her question.

How did you even have s*x?

My parents gave me a s*x talk before, but it was only about using protection and making sure I said no if I wasn’t comfortable having s*x with somebody.

We never went into detail about the acts of s*x or how it was performed. I only assumed that it was easy and would come to me naturally once the time was right.

But now, I’m not so sure.

“Please don’t tell me that none of you know about s*x?” Sage questioned with widened eyes.

I reluctantly shook my head as Rowan did the same. Sage laughed as she popped up on the couch and grabbed her laptop before vigorously typing away.

“You two are about to learn today.” Sage muttered.

She connected her laptop to the projector and put a porn video on for us to watch. I could only stare at it with shock, trying to process what my eyes were seeing.

Rowan gasped in shock before covering her eyes. “Is it supposed to be that big?! How is that thing supposed to fit inside of us?”

I couldn’t help but laugh as I closed my eyes too. The video was too explicit and the things on there were too much for my innocent eyes.

Who knew s*x was so animalistic and rough?

“Not everybody has a big p***s Rowan.” Sage giggled, “But if you’re gonna asleep with Gianni, I’d prepare myself if I was you.”

“How would you know?!” Rowan snapped back possessiveness as she uncovered her eyes and glared at her.

She was totally obsessed with Gianni.

“Because Vinny is big.” Sage shrugged her shoulders, as if what she was saying was normal. “Gianni is his brother, so I can only assume that he is big like him too.”

“Ugh! Shut up!” I complained, “I don’t want to think about my brother’s p***s’!”

The moans and grunts of the porn video, filled the room, making us all blush in embarrassment.

“Turn it off already!” Rowan complained, making me agree.

“Alright, alright, alright.” Sage finally turned off the video, letting us breathe in relief.

“Who knew s*x was so rough.” Rowan looked visibly shaken, as if thinking about becoming a Mormon and living on a farm for the rest of her life.

“s*x isn’t like that.” Sage retorted, “Porn tends to be a false advertisement of sorts.”

“So why would you show it to us then?!” Rowan yelled back.

“So you had a better understanding!”

“You scarred me for life!” Rowan yelled back, making us all laugh.

“If you saw the real thing, you’d thank me for the knowledge.” Sage retorted.

“I’ll never get to see the real thing.”

“That’s not entirely true.” Sage said back with that sneaky look in her hazel-brown eyes that screamed trouble.

“Whatever you’re thinking about doing, don’t.” I warned Sage as she smirked.

“I don’t know what your talking about Caterina. I’m just gonna help our dear friend learn more about sex.”

Rowan furrowed her brows in curiosity, “What does that mean, Sage?”

“I have the best plan for us to get more knowledge without actually having to have any sex.”

I snorted, “Bullshit.”

“Do you have any faith in me Caterina?”

“Not really.” I mused back, making her roll her eyes.

“All we need is fake ID’s and I can make it happen.”

“Fake ID’s?!” Rowan and I both screamed out together. Sage just nodded her head with an amused expression on her beautiful face.

“Can’t you get Max to make us some? He’ll do it for you. He loves you too much not to say no.” She gave me a knowing look, letting me know that I couldn’t say no— even if I wanted too.

“Fine, but I swear to god you better not get us into trouble.”

“Trouble?” Sage smirked, “Who said anything about trouble? We’re just gonna have a little fun and learn in the process.”

Oh god.

I have no idea what I just agreed to.
