FINDING MINE

Chapter 4

Bailey was woken up by the alarm clock on the nightstand, she stretched her hands to turn off the alarm clock.

Gosh! It's already morning, Bailey

said as she walked briskly into the bathroom and dipped herself in the bathtub after filling it with warm water and added some drops of scented bath oil to help her relax and lift her spirits.

Bailey came out of the bathtub and wrapped herself with her bathrobe and walked into the bedroom.

She sat in front of her dressing mirror and carried a dryer to blow her hair, when the doorbell rang, she quickly dropped the dryer and went to get the door.

Bailey opened the door and met a handsome young man of around 24yrs standing there with the box of pizza she ordered for.

"Hi, I'm Harry, you ordered this", Harry said as he stretched his hands forward with the box of pizza in his hands.

"Yh, I'm Bailey, " Bailey said as she got the pizza from him and also thanked him.

Oh,sorry, this is also for you too. Harry said, smiling as he handed two cans of Pepsi to her.

I didn't order these too, Bailey told him.

Cole told her that for each box of special pizza you order you get two cans of Pepsi.

Am so jammy, Bailey screamed as she ran into the house.

Bailey was feeling nervous when she got to the building, so she stayed in the car and dialed her sister's line.

Hi Sissy, she heard her sister's baby voice.

What could have made my sister so happy today, Bailey asked her.

Big Sis, don't be a killjoy, Candice said as she poised.

Okay! So why did you call so early? I can see that nervous and worried face, Candice said.

Wow ! So my expression can't be hidden, I thought as I smirked.

Bailey told her how nervous she was feeling going into the building.

“Big sis, I know you've always been confident and you are. You need to go out there and face your fears.

Walk out with your head high and you can just act as the boss you are,no need to respond to everyone's greetings if that will make you.

You know you've worked so hard for this promotion and you deserve it. Candice kept assuring her and persuading her to face my fears.” Bailey thanked her and also sent my regards to mother as she hung up.

Candice's motivational words were just what she needed at that time.

After the call, Bailey took a breather and stepped out of the car, paid the bolt driver and went into the company building.

Taking her sister's advice, she walked into the building with her head high and nodding to the greetings of the workers.

She entered the elevator to the 5th floor.

When Bailey walked past some of her colleagues, mumblings could be heard.

A lot of them were impressed by her aura, beauty and temperament while some were jealous of her achievement.

All in all,they all agreed that she was a beauty to behold which only fueled their jealousy and anger but Bailey didn't care about what they thought.

Work was hectic that day as she was so exhausted. So this is what being a director of a company meant Bailey was most likely always stressed at work.

That also meant she must be fully prepared for the incoming headaches, Bailey thought.

The only lucky thing was that the company gave the workers free lunch and she didn't have to spend a penny on lunch and as a high staff in the company, she didn't have to go down to the cafeteria for lunch either as her lunch will be brought up to her in the office.

Bailey was summoned by the general manager who acted as the CEO to the office.

She quickly postponed what she was doing to answer the call of her superior.

On reaching the office, Ethan welcomed her warmly into the company and also congratulated her on her promotion.

He also handed over a car key to her as a promotion gift from the company.

A Personal assistant was also appointed to her due to her position in the company.

Bailey's joy knew no bounds. She accepted the gifts and also thanked the general manager and the company for the gift.

“You are only getting what you deserve, tomorrow you'll be having a meeting with the staff and you'll be introduced to everyone there and also to your team members”, Ethan told her.

Ethan dismissed Bailey to get back to work.

After going back to her office, she buried herself in her work as she had a lot of documents and contracts to work on. Bailey worked without realizing that work hours were over not until her newly appointed assistant came to her rescue.

Ma’am, it's time to leave, Miss Yolanda Anderson said, Personal assistant to Bailey.

Okay thanks dear and sorry for keeping you waiting. She apologized as she checked her wrist watch. I should just take the remaining files and go home; Bailey said as she walked through the door.

And Yolanda, I can call you that right? Yolanda nodded. Good, Bailey continued, let's catch up during the weekend.

Okay boss, that would be nice. Bye for now, Yolanda said.

Bailey got into her new car and sped off to the supermarket to buy some groceries and other personal needs as she had just moved in.

She arrived at the market in no distant time and bought what she needed for the evening and what will last her at least for the week.

After getting the necessary things she needed, she paid her bills at the counter and turned to leave.

She came to a halt when she saw a familiar face coming into the supermarket.

She tried tailing the person but lost him.

She went back to her car, started the engine and zoomed off. Bailey decided to stop at the gas station to refill her tank.

After a long journey back home from work, Bailey decided to settle for noodles while seeing a movie but she couldn't concentrate on the movie as her mind kept on thinking about the man she saw at the supermarket that looked exactly like James. She was so confused and decided to give up the thoughts as it might not be James but his doppleganger.
