The lunch was the best meal I had ever eaten in my entire life. And if I had the time to enjoy it, I most definitely would have stayed there much longer.
But working on my notes for my article this morning had put me in a working mood, and I was itching to find out more. To find out whatever I could. I knew that I had a time limit to this, after a certain time, I wouldn't be able to find out as much as I could. I couldn't let this opportunity pass me.
Here I was, in the monster's lair.
So I rushed through my amazing lunch, barely savoring the flavors of the fish and the crunch of the vegetables.
I swallowed the pills with caution though. I wanted to give the fetus the very best chance of survival. And the sooner I gave birth to the thing, the sooner I could leave this hellscape.
