The moon bled red that night. Not a normal crimson glow from an eclipse—no, this was deeper. Like the sky itself had opened its veins. I watched it from my balcony, Kael asleep inside, his wounds still healing. My bones ached, but not from battle. From something older. Deeper. Ancient. A wind stirred—icy, but scented with lavender and ash. “Nyra.” I turned. And the world was gone. No castle. No night. Just… darkness.
