Chapter 8 - Hooded Figure

Karla’s P.O.V “Lavender! No! Where did she go!” I looked at Kaizer with fury lacing my features. He pushed me away from her, allowing her to roam this creepy forest by herself. “She’s the top priority! Not me!” His wolf head bowed to me in apology as he howled in distress, nudging my feet as I rested on the floor. He whined desperately trying to get me to apologize to him but I didn't know why that was so important. He grabbed me instead of his sister? We were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by thick vines from tall trees that arch their backs to enhance the terror of the secret place. “We need to find her.” Kaizer nodded before the sounds of bones rearranging had me spinning the other way. “What the hell is wrong with you? A little warning next time maybe?” his guttural chuckle had my face heating up to a boiling crimson. “You’re really something Faery.” Something about his voice had my heart beating a little faster and made my palms sweaty. It was the most bliss I've experienced in a long time but I couldn't tell the cocky bastard that. “I believe my sister is already at the library, she might look weak but if she can outrun a Lethal then, she can handle herself. My heart picked up speed when his heavy heavy feet made their way to me. With my back still facing the endless vines, I gasped for air, fanning my cheeks to cool them down from embarrassment. Suddenly, I could feel his hot breath fanning the back of my neck as he moved my hair slowly around my shoulders before whispering in my ears. “ Boo.” I swiftly turned around with my eyes closed, shoving him away from my body as he laughed. “This is going to be fun...Follow me, I know where the Library is.” I was never one for romance and I doubt that the werewolf likes me but there was something different about him, like how intoxicating his Cherry-pine scent was, or how whenever we made slight contact electric shivers would run down my spine. His defined facial features made it hard to dislike because although he seemed like a jerk, he was incredibly handsome. My feet followed him with my head held high to avoid his gluteus maximus. I could see his smirk without even looking at him, such an annoyance. “Are you going to cover up?” “Do you have any clothes to cover me up?” Laughing at my obvious annoyance, I shoved him hard. That seemed to be an obvious mistake because as soon as my hand was about to make contact with his muscular back, he turned around capturing them in his storing hands pulling me closer to his rippling chest. His cherry pine scent was tenfold now as his breath blew onto my head. He was incredibly warm, obviously because he was warm-blooded but it made me never want to leave his side. Hastily pushed him away from me…. Or tried to as his hands tightened. “Promise you won't try to hurt me again?” I quickly came up with an idea. It would be painful...for him anyway but before I could even commence. A swift figure dashed past us knocking me off of my feet. I immediately uttered my wings to keep me afloat, dashing after the strange figure as Kaizer did the same. Whatever it was, it was twice the speed of the wolves...probably twice the speed of vampires too but I couldn't be sure as I’ve never seen one before. The figure passed by me again, pulling me from the air as it ran up the trees with my wings in its hands. My stomach was desperate to empty itself as we were moving way too quickly to fathom. “Karla!” Kaizer yelled, dashing up the trees in his human form. If my eyes weren’t blurry from the speed and if my head wasn’t dizzy, I knew that I’d be laughing. The figure finally stopped, but the person was hidden beneath a dark cloak. Barricading him/her from the world. Soft, delicate fingers made their way towards my cheek, turning it slightly to an old building not too far from here. It was in a clearing, one that I wouldn’t have seen without going on higher grounds. “Who are you?” “Who I am doesn't matter, what does is what's coming.” She was definitely female as her voice was soft and airy, not deep from puberty. She turned my head once more to the building that was drawing close dark figures that floated above the ground with sharp teeth and long claws. ‘Those are Noxis, They prey on fearys like your friend, my friend will hold them off for only a second but you need to help them. With that said, she vanished, dashing into the woods with lighting speed. “K-Karla….Are...you...ok?” Kaizer pants as he finally made it to me. He quickly grasped me into his chest sending electric shocks all over my body. I slowly pushed him away before answering. “Yeah, we need to get to the library now, Lavender is in trouble.” He jumped down the trees as I flew over them until we reached the Noxis. I immediately bent over, hurling all over the floor from their putrid smell. They smelled like rotten flash and rubbish bathed in manure… absolutely disgusting. At my hurls, they quickly turned in our direction, closing in on us. Ready to attack. “Karla, I’ll hold them off while you get Lavender.’ Changing into his black wolf he attacked, ripping the head off one clean of his neck. I quickly headed into the lit room. Inside was very clean, books were stacked nicely as some floated in the air to their correct spots. It was magical. The cream walls were accentuated with the shiny floors but I remained cautious as to why I was here until the same loud growls I’ve heard in the forest were now inside the building. I froze in my spot but continued through fear of what could've happened to Lavender. "Lavender!?" "Karla! be careful there is a devil dog in here!" "Oh my God, Lavender don't move! I'm coming!" Turning the corner, I’m met with a huge green dog with slobber running from its hungry mouth and b****y claws but behind him was my best friend …...petting it.
