Claimed By The Alpha

The forest had gone silent. Too silent. Kira stood behind Kieran as his body became rigid with tension, every muscle tight beneath the black shirt stretched across his back. The air around him felt darker now — dangerous in a way she hadn’t seen before. “Stay behind me,” he ordered quietly. Kira frowned immediately. “I’m not helpless.” Kieran glanced back at her once. “You are if I tell you to stay.” Before she could argue, movement flashed between the trees. A wolf stepped into the clearing. Tall. Broad. Unknown. The stranger’s sharp eyes landed directly on Kira. And then the scent hit her. Blood. Violence. Something deep inside her wolf growled instantly. “Well,” the stranger said slowly, “the rumors were true.” Kieran’s voice turned deadly calm. “You crossed into my territory without permission.” The other wolf smirked. “I came to see the girl who shook the entire north with her first shift.” Kira stiffened. So everyone really had felt it. The stranger’s gaze moved over her again, making her skin crawl. “She doesn’t look dangerous.” A low growl rumbled from Kieran’s chest. The sound alone made the other wolf take a cautious step back. “She’s under my protection,” Kieran said. The stranger laughed lightly. “Protection? Or possession?” The atmosphere snapped instantly. Before Kira could react, Kieran moved. Fast. One second he stood beside her. The next, he had the stranger pinned violently against a tree. The crack of bark echoed through the clearing. “You will watch your mouth,” Kieran growled. Pure Alpha power exploded through the forest, suffocating and terrifying. Even Kira felt her heartbeat stumble from the force of it. The stranger swallowed hard. “My mistake, Alpha.” Kieran’s eyes flashed dangerously. “Leave.” The wolf didn’t hesitate this time. He disappeared into the trees immediately. Silence returned. But Kira’s attention stayed fixed on Kieran. His breathing was uneven. His fists clenched tightly. And something about the way he looked at her now made heat curl low in her stomach again. “You were going to kill him,” she said softly. Kieran walked back toward her slowly. “If he touched you, yes.” Kira’s breath caught. The possessiveness in his voice was impossible to miss. “Kieran…” He stopped directly in front of her. Close. Too close. “You don’t understand what you are yet,” he murmured. “Other packs will come for you. Some will want your power.” “And you?” His gray eyes darkened. “I want you safe.” The intensity in his stare made her chest tighten painfully. Nobody had ever protected her like this before. Nobody had ever looked at her like she mattered. Kieran lifted his hand slowly, brushing his thumb lightly across her cheek. The gentle touch completely contradicted the ruthless Alpha she’d just witnessed. “You should be afraid of me,” he said quietly. Kira looked up at him without moving away. “But I’m not.” Something raw flashed across his face. Need. Desire. Possession. And before Kira could think twice, Kieran pulled her against him again and kissed her harder than before. This time there was nothing restrained about it. One of his hands gripped her waist tightly while the other tangled in her hair, holding her exactly where he wanted her. Kira melted into him instantly, her hands sliding against his chest as heat rushed through her body. Kieran kissed her like he’d been trying to hold himself back for too long. Like he was finally done resisting. And when his lips brushed slowly against her jaw before reaching her neck, Kira’s breath shook completely. A quiet sound escaped her lips. Kieran froze for half a second. Then he looked at her with dark, dangerous hunger. “Careful, Kira,” he murmured against her skin. “You’re making it very hard for me to behave’ “
