Say It

Kira could barely breathe. Kieran’s hand remained firm against her waist while his forehead rested against hers, his warm breath fanning across her skin. Everything about him felt dangerous this close — his scent, his touch, the way his gray eyes darkened whenever he looked at her. “So tell me to stop.” His voice was low. Rough. Almost strained. Kira’s pulse pounded violently. She should stop this. She should push him away and remind herself that he was the Alpha — cold, feared, completely out of reach. But instead… Her fingers slowly curled into the front of his shirt. Kieran’s breathing changed instantly. A dangerous look crossed his face. “Kira,” he warned softly. That should’ve scared her. It didn’t. For the first time in her life, someone looked at her like she was wanted instead of pitied. Like she was something precious instead of broken. And Kieran looked at her like he was losing control. “I don’t want you to stop,” she admitted quietly. The words shattered whatever restraint he had left. Kieran pulled her fully against him and kissed her. Hard. Kira gasped softly against his lips as heat exploded through her entire body. His hand tightened at her waist while the other slid into her hair, tilting her head perfectly for him. The kiss wasn’t gentle. It was hungry. Weeks of tension, frustration, and unspoken desire poured into it all at once. Kira kissed him back without hesitation. Her wolf reacted wildly inside her, almost purring at his touch. Kieran growled quietly against her lips. The sound sent heat straight through her body. His mouth moved slower this time, deeper, like he was trying to memorize her. Every touch felt addictive. Dangerous. And when Kieran suddenly pulled away slightly, both of them were breathing hard. His forehead rested against hers again. Gray eyes locked onto hers intensely. “You have no idea what you’re doing to me,” he murmured. Kira’s cheeks burned. “You’re not exactly calm either.” A low laugh escaped him — dark and soft. Then his expression changed suddenly. Sharp. Alert. Kira noticed it immediately. “What’s wrong?” Kieran looked toward the forest. The warmth between them vanished instantly. “I can smell another wolf.” Kira stiffened. The air around Kieran became deadly cold in seconds. Whoever was nearby… They weren’t welcome. Kieran moved protectively in front of her without thinking. And that’s when Kira realized something terrifying. The Alpha who feared nothing— Was afraid of losing her.
