At first, I thought that I might have the key elements to be the writer that I want. I believed that my desire to write my first book might be the first step to lift me up towards my certain goal. But I noticed that I put everything at ease. As time went by, after I read and examined some of the stories of my fellow authors, a realization hit my mind that there's a huge difference separating their stairs from mine making it tough for me to reach or surpass their level.
They are far ahead in terms of vocabulary, techniques, knowledge, and experience in writing. I could see their efforts, self-discipline, and passion through their work. I tried to simulate them but I found it hard. My thoughts didn't reflect my actions. Then I started to interrogate myself, “Do I love what I'm doing? Do I deserve to be a writer? Am I good enough? If the gap between me and the others is too far, how am I supposed to stand out from the rest?” There were a lot of questions unsettling my brain and I hadn't got the faintest idea of how to search for the answers.
The word “change” always knocked my head. I had to seize every opportunity of alteration to bolster my mental capability and gain a deeper comprehension in this field of profession but it appeared that it wasn't what I presumed. The pressure debilitated my mind as hindrances emerged one after another. I came up with a solution for this personal conflict but eradicating it entirely was as hard as a rock. Then, the upshot of this long-drawn-out struggle ignited a spark of apprehension in my head that the problem was not the actual me, it was in me. Proper mindset, steady habits, suitable working environment, and most importantly, the root of my strength who or which made me feel motivated and inspired at all times.
My story still has a lot of room for improvement. To be honest, at first, I denied the fact that my writing skill was still inadequate, giving me a drastic urge to boost it tremendously fast. But in the midway of this journey, I perceived that it was just the beginning part of a “step-by-step process”. It's like going up a staircase with one tread at a time, precise and steady, until I reach the highest peak where the word “success” is waiting for my forthcoming arrival. Skipping even one step would be crucial for the outcome of my self-development so I restrained myself from doing so. The thought of becoming an expert and achieving my goal straight away without taking that process was utterly wrong. I can't create a complete output of my road if I won't make an initial outline. There's no finish line if there's no starting point. If I would describe myself previously, I could be a star on a dark night. A star forcing its glow to be the brightest among all, but I was thankful that my mind became clear before it was too late. We don't need to have the brightest sparkle in the night sky, we just have to keep our glow to make the night exquisitely beautiful.
If you're reading this now and have piqued a keen interest to give this story a read from a raw author, I highly appreciate it. Thank you for your time, for giving me an opportunity to show you what I've got. I'm gladly accepting any kind of criticism so you're free to judge my work. This is the product of what I've learned so far from this experience. I hope that it is enough to entertain and satisfy you.
Happy reading :)
