It was true that nearly two-thirds of the world’s cows and chickens had been transmogrified into blomers during pullulation, and the rest had left their concomitant meats a scarce item on supermarket shelves and in restaurants. Now, if you wanted a steak or a chicken pot pie, or even a hamburger, it would cost you a pretty penny. But it would cost you in another way, too.
