I started eating my meal. Everyone was silent, like very very quiet and this was the first time that the dinner table was silent.
"Ew! My chicken is burnt!" Kyla broke the silence and pushed the plate away from her.
"They look fine..." Simon looked at the chicken then he bit on it since Kyla didn't touch it. "More for met."
I was about to laugh but bit my tongue to prevent myself. Kyla glared at me but then Stella bursted out laughing, making Kyla change her gaze. Leo also smiled at the scene but it soon disappeared when Kyla looked at him.
"Excuse me, I'm going to the kitchen and cook something more… decent." Kyla said and left. "You want to come Bugga boo?"
"No thanks, I like chicken." Simon replied which made me smile.
"Whatever, suite yourself." And with that she left.
