Friday at work was like any other.

People working at half pace already feeling the weekend and looking like they were already dressed for whatever they had planned after. I, on the other hand, didn’t participate in casual Friday other than switching out my heels for a pair of flats. I was sitting at my desk when my phone rang I answered it knowing that it was one of my Best friends Vae or Shey

”Heyy Biatch happy Friday” Vae screamed

”Hey Beautiful” I reply

”So whatCha doing” I look At the clock it's 5:30 and realize it’s time to leave

“Packing up my work binders

about to head home for some wine time You coming over?”

“No, you’re about to go home throw on something white and Sexy be ready to get picked up by 8 o’clock ”

I laugh knowing that she was calling to drag me from my couch

”You know I hate crowds” I plead

”No can do honey it's been too long since we got free drinks and danced the night away got high and watched the sunrise so either you get dressed or I’m dragging you out the house your choice biatch”

”Okay okay ”

”You can’t let that man turn you into a hermit okay it’s time for you to over him and under someone new okay love see you at 8,” she says before she clicks off the phone

I pack my stuff in my bag and head to the elevator letting my mind linger on Trey

And how I caught him with his male boss and how he had the nerve to say he wasn’t cheating he was just trying to get a promotion for us and how his boss laughed and said how many promotions did he need. I had his stuff packed and out by the time he got home for us

I had seen the signs that he was cheating but I had ignored them not caring enough to confront him but I never would have guessed it was his boss. Shaking my head as I got to off the elevator I felt eyes on my back and the hair on my neck felt like it was standing on ends when I got to the parking I looked Around wondering if I was being watched and so I rushed to my car.

When I got home I hopped in the shower and started getting dressed knowing that Vae would live up to her threats

After I’m clean, smooth, and shaved. I look at my 5’4 figure with wide hips and ample breast in the mirror and let my hand linger as I moisturize my skin over my flat tummy and thick thighs after I put on some lingerie I start on my makeup and my hair so it can be tamed by the time the girls arrive feeling sexy I go for an updo that makes me feel like a both sexy and shows off my slim shoulders I’m looking at my clothes in dismay when I hear her Vae use her key and come in

“Move your ass Keyla, Shey will be here soon and you know she's doesn't like to be late,” she says as she walks into my room “I know I said sexy but I figured you at least put on some kind of clothes,” she says while wiggling her eyebrows. I stand next to my closet looking at my clothes

She walks over to my closet to pulls out a dress I forgot I owned pulls and throws together an outfit that’s both sexy and classy as expected from a personal shopper and stylist

she passes me a pair of chunky white heels And walks out of the room I finish getting dressed

Heels on purse in hand I head to the kitchen and see Vae pouring shots for us she poured six So I get ready to ask what time Sheyla will get here when I hear the familiar sound of our old secret knock on the door I smile as I say ”what's the password”

Sheyla reply’s ”hurry up your moms coming and I got the weed ” I hear Vae start laughing as I open the door

And see Sheyla hold up a dispensary bag as she walks looking amazing Shey is shorter than Vae and taller than me at 5’6 with nearly no boobs or body fat which allows her to wear a small lace halter top that's tucked into long wide-leg pants that makes her hips and butt look bigger. I hug her making sure I don't touch my face to her white outfit. we walk into the kitchen and I'm so happy to be with my best friends again we've been best friends since 14 when our parents decided to force us into charm school to become proper ladies and realized that it would take all of us to make it out alive.

“So, Vae where is this party,” I ask grabbing my first shot

“I don’t know Shey got the tickets I just promised to drag you along, laughing she yells “ Cheer Sluts” and we tip back our tequila shots then I feel the burn and look at Shey Expectingly

She makes a sour face be before answering

”So you know that I've been investigating the rise in deaths lately and how there have been people disappearing. you know how I told you the government has been hiding the vampires from the public because every time I get close my boss tells me to back off and write something else I've had a breakthrough, I think I've discovered a nest”

I shudder at the thought and down my other shot as she continues

” You know for years I've always wanted to know more about the vampire race and I knew there had to be more to the stories that there is no way the government eliminated all the vampires with especially when they had special abilities in the war 90 years ago that they must be hiding in the shadows because of the public panicking. so I've recently been looking into this rising in missing people around here and I've come across a pattern.” Shey’s eyes sparkle with passion and it reminds me of when we were kids and we found my grandmothers journals and it told tales of vampires and we were foolish enough to think they were made belief and how horrified my parents were when we told them “Navona Inc has been involved with every single family pay off covering medical bills or giving loans forgiveness for mortgages or scholarship to the families left behind by the missing or deceased why is that I thought? and then looked more into Navona and found that they've been doing it for years every time there is a spike in deaths and disappearances they swoop in and help the families and clean up the mess so to me that sounds like vampires just learn how to clean up there messes to keep the government off their heels.”

I look at my best friends and say “ I thought you said tonight would be fun” Vae just rolls her eyes “ that's only If we are walking into a vampires nest but it’s still a party on a yacht with free drinks and rich guys so I say we go have a great time, that’s better than Shey original plan of breaking into the offices and looking for clues to vampires.”

Vae phone rings and she tells us the car is here so we grab our purses and coats and head out of my apartment

The ride to the marina is filled with Vae trying to do anything to make the drive blush and Shey and me laughing at her antics when we arrive I look down the marina and see candles lined down the dock leading to the biggest yacht I’ve ever seen I look back see Vae scrunching her face rubbing her Amethyst stone on her necklace I grab her hand and she smiles Hesitantly and we all walk forward down the dock when we get to the yacht

Shey approaches a security guard and pulls out Her press pass and presents him with the tickets for the event and he waves us in leering at us with lustful eyes. When we're up the ramp we walk over to the bar and Vae orders a round of drinks giving the bartender a dazzling smile I try not to notice as he looks at my ample cleavage making our drinks extra strong in return drinks in hand we survey the deck I see men and women clad in white clothing from more casual to upscale enjoying drinks and conversation further down the deck I see people dancing and I see a buffet and I know my first stop Vae decide to head to the dance floor and I promise to join her Shey And I head over to the food we grab plates and I consider playing modest but then think about how much I like to drink and decide to take advantage of this wonderful spread of food it's a lot of seafood go for the shrimp and steak on screwers and lobster mac and cheese and a melody of squash I try to keep my mouth from watering on my plate. I head over to one of the tables and start to enjoy my food and shey is right alongside me and looking at us you would think neither of us could finish our plates let alone consider seconds when we finished our food shey says its time to make the rounds and I'm reluctant to be left alone but I play it cool and nod to Shey understanding she is here for work when I'm left I alone I head back to the bar I'm standing there its more crowded than earlier and I decide to be patient when the guys next to me decide to talk to me he looks about 6 foot with broad shoulders and a face that make me feel like he makes friends everywhere he goes he reminds me of Vae ” so who do I have to kill to get a drink around here” he says with a lopsided grin that makes me want to smile back ” I don't know just make sure it's not bloody I'd hate to ruin my white” I say laughing he looks surprised and a little bit pleased with my response and laughs at my joke ” Marcus Vachi ” says extending a hand ”Keyla Moviani ” I reply ” so how do you know Waylen?” I give him a puzzled look and realized he must be talking about our host who has yet to make an appearance

” I don't,” I say honestly ”Oh so what lucky man had the honor of being your date tonight ” and before I can make an awkward attempt to explain I'm solo I hear Vae say ” How are you sure it a Man” Not missing a beat I see Marcus take in my best friend with open desire and I can't help but smirk whereas Marcus was being polite to me he can't hide his attraction to my best friend who is looking at him with the same fire

When we are finally served our drinks Vae and Marcus are practically drooling over each other and I make a quiet exit leaving them to flirt I decide to look around and head to the upper deck and stand by the railing looking at the stars, the sky is clear and at times like these I wonder if I'll always feel like a loner in the vast universe I feel eyes on me again and Im scared to look back to see what I will find the same eyes from the parking lot I don't know how I know I just do as well as I know if I look at those eyes my life will change forever and just like that the feeling is gone and I feel uneasy being alone so I head down to the lower deck I spot Shey and Vae at a table and start to head there way when I hear the sound of a knife clinking against a champagne flute I look to where the sound is coming from and my heart stops the man making the introductions is handsome but the man behind him to his left is deadly as if he can feel my eyes on him he scowls and looks at me and my world seemed to change in an instant in the it’s as if the room fades but in I hear a name Waylen Navona
