Vivienne’s POV The engine’s hum filled the silence, steady and low, but inside me everything was falling apart. My hands were folded tight in my lap, nails biting into my skin, as I fixed my gaze out the window. All I caught sight of were the many streetlamps streaking past in blurred golds and shadows. I wasn't one to stare out during drives, but I appreciated the fact that each one we passed pulled me further from that godforsaken bar, from Ronan, and from the kiss that was never mine to stop.
