Lyra The corridor is quiet at this hour, pack members having gone back to their businesses after the meeting. The sound of our footsteps fills the silence around us. I stop walking just before we get to my room. Xavier keeps walking, but my feet remain rooted to the ground. Xavier eventually senses I am no longer with him and stops in his tracks. He walks back to where I’m standing, his perceptive eyes already roaming my face. “Mated and marked?” the accusation is clear in my voice. Xavier holds my gaze.
