Lyra A crick in my neck ached as I woke curled up on my window seat. I didn’t sleep well. Every single time I closed my eyes, I saw the training grounds. Blades flashing beneath the afternoon sun, bodies shifting, teeth gnashing at me, claws, and several wolves running towards me. I must have fallen asleep by the window while worrying about the upcoming skills testing. Pushing myself upright, I made my way to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Decisions form while I wash my face in the small basin beneath my mirror. I am not going to tell Xavier about the note. Not yet. Not until I understand who I’m dealing with and why they are targeting me. I dry my face before putting my jacket on and making my way to breakfast.
