Days passed, and Galire kept himself entertained with Athena. He made her run countless times, chasing, catching, and healing her only to repeat the process again. He was having fun with her, only leaving its lair when he needed food.
DRACORITH KINGDOM - ELDRADRAGON CITY
Three old men in suits sat in what seemed like a living room. They wore serious expressions on their faces and they seemed to be bothered by something.
“The town has been awfully peaceful lately. There have been no killings and no destruction.” The man in a grey suit insinuated.
“ That is because the dragon hasn’t left its lair for days. It makes me wonder what has been keeping him occupied, Elder Thora,” The second elder said, humming, as if in thought.
“ Perhaps we should ask his brother. He was the last person to visit the monster. “ Thora spat and Endrado interjected.
“ Do not call him a monster, Thora. He is like you and me. He is a dragon and the imperial heir. Do not call him a monster, he is just a feral dragon that needs help in bringing him back to his true self.” Endrado reprimanded, displeased by Thora for calling the imperial heir a monster. He still remembered the birth of the imperial heir a hundred and two years ago. His birth was anticipated by so many. They were all losing hope as the queen, the dragon king's mate seemed to not be able to conceive. His birth was a redemption to all the dragons but unfortunately, his twin brother was stillborn. The people love him. They all looked forward to seeing him become the imperial king but all of a sudden, when the time was close, he became insane. He became destructive, and predatory and posed a danger to his own people. It was devastating. It still hurts Endrado’s heart knowing that he doesn’t have a way to help him. He had read sacred ancient scrolls to see if there were any hidden solutions but there seemed to be none. The only solution was to get an heir from him which has led to a harem of concubines that never conceived. Some of these concubines have suffered traumas from him. Some almost lost their lives but in a world ruled by riches, they are determined to stay in hopes of having a child by the imperial heir. Ladya has shown great potential. She is the only one who has taken the dragon’s huge p***s without returning unconscious unlike the other. Hopefully, Ladya will conceive a child soon and they could put an end to the dragon’s life.
Thora scoffed, placing his leg over the other, he leaned against the chair, his face wrinkled with irritation. He didn’t understand why Endrado kept defending the useless imperial heir. A good-for-nothing dragon.
“ He may be like you but he is not like me.” Thora deadpanned.
“ I do not kill the innocents. I don’t eat children and I don’t turn young women into widows and young men into widowers. The imperial heir is doomed. ALARIS is doomed from birth. He took the life of his mother who spent years nurturing him and what about his innocent brother? He killed him by being greedy in the womb. He refused to share the nutrients with him. Now tell me, what made you think he is like me? Like other righteous dragons?”
“ The throne has been empty for too long. It’s time to appoint a new leader. A RIGHTEOUS ONE. Go home and think about it. ALARIS cannot be saved. Never.”
With that said, elder Thora left the room leaving Endrado to clench his fists.
“ watch your steps, you sickly bastard.” Thora cursed under his breath when he bumped into Elder Akera.
Akera ignored him and entered the room, where he met Endrado lost in whatever that was in his head.
“ Aren’t you curious?” Akera asked, swallowing hard. “ About what is keeping the dragon in its lair. What if he died?” He asked and Endrado leaped to his feet, shaking his index finger at Akera, his green eyes turning golden.
“ I forbid you from saying such words. I forbid it.”
Akera nods his head and lets out a sigh. He hasn’t forgotten how much Endrado cares for ALARIS. If the dragon died, Endrado would be the last person he would tell. What if he goes feral too? Dealing with Alaris is enough. He wouldn’t want to deal with this old man whose heart had been stolen since the child was born.
“ Then let’s go check on him. Do you need me to get you a rider?” Akera said and Endrado glared at him.
“ I should be asking you that, Akera. Considering you are sick and unfit.” Endrado answered and Akera laughed, easing the tension in the atmosphere.
As they walked out into the hallway, Endrado told Akera, “ Thora brought the throne up again. This time around, he sounded determined.
THE DRAGON LAIR
As the two elders approached the inside of the cave, they bowed their heads as they walked. The loud breathing sound of the dragon told them he was still alive which made Endrado exhale loudly without realizing it.
The dragons snapped open and they stopped in their tracks, afraid they must have alerted him. While still motionless, they used their eyes to scan the area, in search of something. Something they had no idea of.
When the dragon's eyes closed back, they continued their quiet walk and searched. Occasionally, they will sigh in relief as they couldn’t find any human bones around which means that the dragon has been good, and that sparked hope in their hearts. Something that has been dead, although they tried to keep it alive. Could it be the dragon was slowly regaining his sanity of consciousness? They shared a look of disbelief and it took Endrado a lot of restraint from screaming in excitement.
Akera's eyes narrowed when he saw pale legs protruding from beneath the dragon and two questions were in his mind. Is that a human?
“ It’s a wolf!” Endrado growled, startling Akera and the dragon’s eyes snapped open, shining dangerous amber.
Galire growled, making Athena jolt out of her slumber. Her heart pounded in her chest and as she peeked from behind the dragon who seemed to be shielding her from something, she saw two old men. The looks on their faces made her heart leap into her throat. Their eyes were molten golden as if wanting to consume her.
" Stay away from her!" Galire's voice rumbled and Endradro's hands curled into fists by his side. How could Galire protect the miserable she-wolf? Her smell made him want to pull his intestines out. He hated wolves. The dragons hate them and if it was up to him, it wouldn't take a second before he roasted her to death.
Akera's hand slowly reached for Endrado's and patted it gently before whispering to him. " We cannot provoke him." Akera said, letting Endrado know the implications of provoking the dragon.
" Why does he f*****g have a she-wolf beside him?" Venom filled Endrado's voice and Akera sighed. He had no idea.
Akera turned in the dragon's direction and saw him protecting the wolf. He made sure she was behind him.
" What should we do? He seemed to be fond of her," Akera voiced out his observation and Endrado groaned. The word " Fond of her," pierced his heart like a sharp needle. How can a dragon be fond of a wolf? The creature they hated most?
" A worthless omega," Endrado snorted, disgust in his tone, and Akera gulped.
" The little wolf is mine. You will not lay your old wrinkled hands on her. " Galire said possessively, making Athena shrink behind him.
Akera almost chuckled. He was glad Alaris hadn't lost his sharp tongue yet which convinced him that he was still there, trapped inside his dragon.
Akera bowed his head slightly, signifying he understood before raising it.
" You have my words. We will not lay our wrinkled hands on her." Akera said firmly, his palm on his chest.
Endrado tugged at him, his eyes laced with fury.
" What do you think you are doing Akera?" He questioned under his breath.
" You know she has to die. How can you vow we will not touch her? She cannot live, Akera. YOU KNOW THAT."
