The whole family as well as some members of the board sat round the luxurious conference table imported from Italy. There was a porcelain vase at the centre. It was said to be a treasure from the pyramid of Gaza belonging to a pharaoh from the Song dynasty. It worths over three million dollars and there was only one in the entire world and it was resting silently on the table.
Mr Wei cleared his throat and all eyes turned to him.
"Father. You sent for us and here we are"
Emma's father, Wei Feng said. He was Mr Wei first child and the favorite to succeed the ageing Mr Wei
"Hmm"
Mr Wei sighed
"I called this meeting to make a big announcement that will affect this company both internally and externally"
Everyone sat upright. This was what they have been waiting for, for so long . Mr Wei nori their eagerness and quickly continued
"The stock market for this month is out and although our revenue increased by ten percent this month. We are still far behind the Skyrocketing Hee group. So I've decided that the only way to beat them is to crush them"
HISS.......
The whole hall fell into silence.
"Father wouldn't this affect our business drastically"
Wei Feng spoke up and many of the board members nodded in approval
"And how would it ?"
Wei Chen asked and the whole hall fell into silence again.
He was the second son of Mr Wei and the most decisive of all
"Look at it this way"
Feng Wei replied standing up
"Both the Hee group and the Wei group do not produce the same thing but our products are actually complimentary. That means the demand for one affects the demand for the other. As we make the automobiles the Hee group mines ad refines the oil used in powering it. Although we do not have a partnership program with them most of our customers do. Nissan from Japan whose cars we make for them specially request the Octane 8 fuel for the vehicles and their design is tailored towards that. And only the Hee group makes the Octane 8"
Feng Wei paused for a while and took a sip of his coffee
"Show off"
Chen Wei sneered. Feng Wei ignored him and continued
"If we decide to mobilize all available resources and crush the Wei group we would force our customers to migrate to a new fuel package."
"Most of the Other Cars producing company only request from other fuel makers and those fuel makers will not supply to others hence declining our trade"
Feng Wei sat down after finishing and he looked at his youngest brother Khan Wei. He nodded I. approval ang gave him a thumbs up sign.
The whole board fell silent
"Chen, Khan any objections"
Mr Wei asked the two brothers
"I don't have any objections"
Khan hurriedly replied smiling at Feng Wei
Everyone turned to look at Chen Wei who seemed engrossed in his coffee string it continuously
"Chen we are waiting for you"
Feng Wei said his face full of disdain. It was at that point Chen Wei finally looked up with a smile curled up at the corner of his lips.
"Feng is right. But we can take precautions can't we?"
The board of directors were astonished. It should be noted that Feng Wei and Chen Wei had a long standing rivalry that even the strict Mr Wei could not terminate
The three brothers put their head together whispering and finally came up with a plan. Three heads are better than one
Feng stood up proudly nodding at his brothers
"We have a plan that will enable us crush the Hee group and still remain in business"
The whole room quieted instantly. Their dividends depended on this "plan"
"We have to venture into car making ourselves and once we are established we can crush the Hee group. Of recent we have only been making the designs of other brands. Let's launch the Wei Vehicle"
Feng concluded and the whole room erupted into claps. He nodded curtly and sat down.
Mr Wei cleared his throat and the Hall fell silent once again "Tell me who came up with this brilliant idea" Feng immediately pointed to Chen while Chen and Khan pointed to Feng.
It was a beautiful sight watching a rare moment of humility amongst the brothers but since two fingers pointed at Feng everyone concluded Feng was the mastermind behind the plan. Feng Wei was also surprised to see Chen Wei solidly supporting him.
"Dad I'm sure you did not call us here to talk about the Hee group" Chen Wei declared ignoring Feng smiling gaze.. Mr Wei smiled and coughed out
"As you all know I'm aging rapidly and even if it is not quite visible my health is failing"
He paused awhile to observe everyone
"I brought the Wei group to where it is over the last six decades and now it is time to pass it down to the next generation"
