THIRST

CHAPTER SIX

So maybe my wish did finally come true. Maybe it was fate after all that I'd find a friend who'd study with me and maybe that friend is Jeremy. After lectures we had gone into the library and studied together while we talked about our own understanding of the school as new students.

Now I walked down the Hallway taking U-turns till I get to my dorm. I opened the door to find Linda on her dresser table lining up her face with makeup. immediately the door click shut behind me, She glanced up and threw me a smile which quickly dropped to shock.

"Oh my god!! don't tell me you went out in those". She pointed her eye pencil towards me.

Confused I look down to see what she was pointing at and that's when It clicked on my brain. Jeez how could I forget.

"Am so sorry Linda, I didn't mean to invade in your privacy like that, I was so....so immature to have left my box unlocked under the unclosed window and then the storm came I didn't know what to do so I had to . I didn't want to miss my first... My first ..." I flailed looking for words to use but was cut shut by Linda's loud laughter as she almost fell to the ground.

Okay this is not funny. I feel like an i***t.

"Sorry haz, no offense but skirts underneath a dress?" When she finally gain composure, She shook her head.

I sighed and went to seat on her bed realising she didn't mean what she said.

"You know that's not funny Linda, I couldn't bring myself to even walk down that hall with this short dress and besides your wardrobe is not my style to worst it all that brat barged in here while I was still in my towel. You don't expect me to still walk out with these only". I sighed, relishing what had transpired between us earlier that morning as I felt the urge to break down again.

"Okay I don't get it..... Who barged in on you?" Linda creased her brow, confused as she came to sit close to me.

"Dreg" I hissed unsure if I'd call his name correctly.

she gasped. "I'm so sorry haz, I should have let you know he'd be coming to pick some stuff".

"Yeah your boyfriend was rude" I said ready to disclose what my eyes has seen in the lecture hall "he's a cheat." I added but Linda laughed again. Now I was beginning to think she's gone crazy or maybe I've gone crazy which I'm not sure cause I'm very sure of what my eyes had seen.

"Drey is not my boyfriend" she clarified.

"Then why does he barge in here like he owns this place!!" I didn't realize I'd broken down already as tears poured down my face.

Linda sighed as she came to sit close to me. "I'm so sorry if drey said anything bad to you". She said.

"It's fine" I nodded as I pulled out my books ready to stack them again. That's what I always do.

"There's a party tonight, Why don't you join us?" She said.

It was my turn to laugh at her. "Lol. Parties?Nah"

"Cmon haz, it's gonna be fun rather than staying indoors all day. You're in college now".

"I'd prefer staying indoors and besides I have to go to the store tomorrow to get things for my other side of the room" I said which was true although I never planned to design my walls like Linda did hers but I'd penciled down some things like book stickers, clothes, mini tables and some other things that'd be necessary for my stay, car could hold on until I have enough money.

"Okay I'll drive you to the store." Linda said so adamantly "You can meet new friends, just this once. Please". Linda pleaded.

I couldn't bring myself to say no to her, even though I've only known her for a day, despite how rugged she can be she's been nice to me so far but parties aren't really my thing, not with the fact that mum had warned me against them.

"I don't know. I. just don't. want to meet drey again " I say.

"Don't worry this time around I'd make sure he never bothers you". She assured.

"Okay" I finally smiled as she engulfed me in a hug. "Yay!" She beamed.
