Episode 12: The Moment He Found Her Again

875 Words
Daniel slowly turned around. And then— Everything stopped. His heart slammed violently against his chest… once, twice… and then it felt like it had completely frozen. His fingers trembled. His breath caught in his throat. Because the person standing right in front of him… Was the one he had been searching for… for years. Ji-woo. Her name echoed inside his mind with every heartbeat. Ji-woo… Ji-woo… Ji-woo… He couldn't look away. His eyes were locked onto her as if afraid she might disappear again. God… how many nights had he imagined this moment? How many times had he dreamed of finding her… of seeing her smile again… of hearing her voice call his name? If only… If only he could run to her right now. Hold her tightly in his arms. Ask her— Where were you? Do you have any idea how much I looked for you…? Do you know how much I missed you…? "Aka…?" The voice snapped him out of his thoughts. Daniel blinked, forcing himself back to reality. "H…ha," he replied, barely managing to control his voice. "Hello, sir," Ji-woo said politely. Sir. That single word hit him harder than anything. It shattered something deep inside his chest. Sir…? His thoughts froze. She… doesn't recognize me? For a moment, he just stared at her. Searching. Hoping. Begging silently for even the smallest sign of recognition. But there was nothing. No warmth. No memory. No connection. Only polite distance. "Please… have a seat," Daniel said, his voice calm on the outside… but breaking apart on the inside. Sun-ho smiled, completely unaware of the storm unfolding before him. "Aka, this is the girl I told you about yesterday. Her name is Ji-woo." That name… To Sun-ho, it was just a name. But to Daniel— It was his entire world. "I see…" Daniel replied quietly. Gi-woo stepped forward and handed him her documents. "Sir, this is my resume." Their fingers almost touched. Just for a second. But even that brief moment sent a shock through Daniel's entire body. He took the papers, trying to steady himself. But it was useless. No matter how hard he tried— His eyes kept returning to her. He scanned the documents without really seeing them. The words blurred together. Because his mind was screaming only one thing— She's here. She's really here. A heavy silence filled the room. Then finally— "You can start working here." Gi-woo's eyes lit up instantly. "Really? Thank you!" She turned toward Sun-ho with a bright smile. That smile… It was the same. Exactly the same. And it hurt. So much more than he expected. "Aka, thank you!" Sun-ho said happily. "No need to thank me," Daniel replied shortly. "We'll help her adjust," Sun-ho continued. "She'll become your best secretary." Daniel said nothing. Because right now— He wasn't thinking about work. At all. A knock broke the tension. Secretary Yun entered the room. "Sir, I'm glad a new employee has been found." Daniel looked at him. "You seem quite happy. Did you not enjoy working with me?" "N-no, sir! That's not it…" Yun quickly replied. "Working with you has been an honor. But… I'm getting old. I don't have the strength I used to." Daniel's expression softened slightly. "You've done more than enough. It's time for you to rest." There was sincerity in his voice. "Thank you, sir…" Then suddenly— "Aka, what about me? Do you love me too?" Sun-ho said playfully. Daniel's gaze shifted. For a moment, his eyes landed on both Sun-ho… and Gi-woo. "I value you very much," he said slowly. "And I care about you." Those words carried more meaning than anyone in the room understood. Except him. "We love you too, Aka!" Sun-ho laughed. Daniel gave a small nod. "You may go now." Sun-ho and Gi-woo left the room together. Secretary Yun followed. The door closed. And silence fell. Heavy. Unbearable. Daniel stood still. Then slowly— he exhaled. "… Is it really her?" he whispered. His hands clenched into fists. "She didn't recognize me…" A bitter smile formed on his lips. "Did you ever think about me… even once?" His chest tightened. "Did you miss me… like I missed you…?" Too many questions. Too many emotions. And no answers. Meanwhile— Outside the office, Gi-woo was being introduced to the staff. "She's gorgeous…" "Yeah… and she seems so gentle…" Whispers filled the space. Gi-woo smiled politely, greeting everyone. Secretary Yun patiently explained everything: Schedules. Meetings. Business partners. Daniel's preferences. What he liked. What he didn't. Gi-woo listened carefully. Focused. Professional. As if— Daniel was just another boss. Nothing more. Time passed. Then— Yun suddenly checked his watch. "Ah… the meeting!" He turned to Gi-woo. "Can you remind Mr. Daniel? It's time." "Of course," she nodded. Gi-woo quickly walked toward his office. At the same moment— The door opened. Daniel stepped out. And then— they stopped. Both of them. Their eyes met. Time slowed. The world disappeared. Just for a second— It was only them. Him… And the girl who had forgotten everything. If the person you loved forgot you… Would you fight for them again? #amnesia #romance #drama #heartbreak #second chance #w*******l #love story #emotional #drama
