The Things We Don’t Say The next day felt different. Not heavy. Not sad. Just… full. Shelly woke up early, even before her alarm. For a few seconds, she stayed still, staring at the ceiling. Her mind slowly went over everything from yesterday. Yash. Spencer. The way both of them stood in the same room. The way the air had changed. She let out a quiet breath. “Why does everything have to get complicated…” she murmured. --- When she walked into the kitchen, Rita was already there, making tea. “You’re up early” Rita said, without turning. “Couldn’t sleep much” Shelly replied. Rita gave her a quick look. “Too many thoughts?” Shelly didn’t answer directly. She just picked up a cup and poured tea. That silence was enough. Rita smiled slightly. “I saw yesterday.” Shelly paused.
