IN RANGE
(Whole Body Radiation Therapy machines are large and impressive, and a truly marvellous invention, but what if something sensitive happens to get exposed to one... for too long?)
Flat out on my back again, and looking up, I suddenly saw two bright little eyes looking back down at me. They were peering out from between the blades of a square air vent situated in the ceiling above the machine. I was on my back on the moving table of a big LinAc gamma radiation machine, which was just about to move into position, ready to safely deliver another of the daily minimal prescribed doses required for the elimination of my cancerous prostate gland.
For a moment I forgot the usual nagging discomfort of the strategically located balloon catheter, and strained my eyes for a better view. I j
