Chapter 17 Isika stood on the upper rooftop of the palace, among the elaborate rooftop gardens her grandmother had commissioned. She held her face to the sky, running her eyes over the magic dome she had constructed with Jabari. She searched for answers with her mind. What was making holes in it, and how could they patch the holes so the protective magic would stay put? Jabari stood beside her, his face turned upward as well, and Ben lay nearby, his arms crossed under his head as he stretched out on a patch of grass in the rooftop gardens.
