Chapter 3 Jabari yawned as he brushed the last of the clay dust out of the kiln, and unfortunately, Tomas caught him at it, marching into the kiln room with a tray of pots ready to be fired, just as Jabari was thinking the yawn would c***k his face open. Tomas lowered his eyebrows. His grizzled white hair had the same dust in it that Jabari had been cleaning for hours, and Jabari found himself thinking about how he could use the kiln broom on his master’s head.
