Dinner at the pack house was finally quiet.
Or at least…
It was supposed to be.
Everyone was gathered around the long dining table—Remi, Will, Rae, Trey, Del, Elijah, Elaine, Marcus, Luke, and Noah.
Remi looked across the table at Rae.
A mischievous smile appeared.
“I have to say something.”
Rae immediately narrowed her eyes.
“No.”
Remi laughed.
“You don’t even know what I’m going to say.”
“I know that look.”
Del started smiling.
“This should be good.”
Remi leaned back in her chair.
“I’m honestly shocked one of the warriors was checking Rae out today.”
Rae slowly looked up.
Her expression went completely blank.
Del nodded.
“Same.”
Rae stared at both of them.
“Are we seriously doing this?”
Remi laughed.
“With everything you’ve done to those warriors?”
Del added,
“You’ve scared half the pack.”
“I have not.”
Remi raised an eyebrow.
“You hacked their phones.”
“That was security.”
“You pulled up their search histories.”
“That was also security.”
“You made Elijah’s phone play Barbie Girl.”
Rae pointed at Elijah.
“That was funny.”
Elijah nodded.
“It was.”
Rae smiled triumphantly.
“Thank you.”
Remi continued.
“And somehow, after all of that…”
She shook her head.
“A warrior still decided to check you out.”
Rae slowly lowered her fork.
She stared at Remi.
Then Del.
“You two are enjoying this way too much.”
Del laughed.
“A little.”
Rae shook her head.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Elijah suddenly spoke.
“Actually…”
Everyone looked at him.
Elijah had a grin on his face.
“The warrior you’re talking about is the same one Rae terrified.”
Rae’s eyes widened.
“Elijah.”
“What?”
“You’re not telling that story.”
“I absolutely am.”
Trey looked curious.
“What happened?”
Elijah leaned back.
“Apparently, Rae noticed one of the warriors had been searching the internet for pictures of the Alphas.”
Rae covered her face.
“Oh my God.”
Remi laughed.
“Wait.”
She looked at Rae.
“You actually caught him?”
Rae lowered her hands.
“Yes.”
Del started laughing.
“And?”
Rae glared at her.
“And I may have had a conversation with him.”
Elijah snorted.
“Conversation?”
Rae shot him a look.
“He understood me perfectly.”
Elijah laughed.
“You scared him half to death.”
“I did not.”
Elijah looked at Trey.
“He hasn’t looked up another picture of you since.”
Trey raised an eyebrow.
“Why?”
Elijah grinned.
“Because Rae found his search history.”
Trey looked at Rae.
“Why were you looking?”
Rae stared at him.
“Because he was looking you up.”
Trey’s expression changed.
“Rae…”
“What?”
“You got territorial.”
Rae’s cheeks immediately turned pink.
“I did not.”
Elijah laughed.
“You absolutely did.”
Del nodded.
“You were terrifying.”
Remi laughed.
“What did you say to him?”
Rae crossed her arms.
“I simply explained that if he was going to spend his free time searching for pictures of my mate…”
She paused.
“He needed to understand that I was aware of it.”
Trey smiled.
“My mate.”
Rae pointed at him.
“Don’t make that face.”
“What face?”
“That smug Alpha face.”
Trey grinned wider.
“You were jealous.”
“I was not jealous.”
Elijah leaned back.
“You told him that if you caught him searching Trey again, you’d personally make sure his entire internet history was printed and delivered to every warrior in the pack.”
Rae looked at Elijah.
“That was a perfectly reasonable warning.”
The entire table erupted in laughter.
Even Will couldn’t hide his smile.
Remi shook her head.
“I can’t believe you scared a grown wolf because he looked up pictures of Trey.”
Rae shrugged.
“He should’ve known better.”
Trey leaned closer.
“You were protecting me.”
“I was protecting what belongs to me.”
The table went silent.
Rae froze.
She realized what she’d just said.
Trey’s grin slowly spread.
“What belongs to you?”
Rae’s face turned bright red.
“You heard me.”
Trey’s wolf practically purred.
Mate.
Trey reached across the table and took her hand.
“I like territorial Rae.”
Rae rolled her eyes.
“Don’t encourage me.”
“Too late.”
Will looked at Trey.
“Now you know how it feels.”
Trey glanced at him.
“What?”
Will nodded toward Remi.
“She gets protective too.”
Remi immediately protested.
“I do not.”
Will smiled.
“You threatened a nurse who flirted with me.”
Remi’s eyes widened.
“That was different.”
Rae’s mouth dropped open.
“You did?”
Del started laughing.
“Wait. I need this story.”
Remi pointed at Will.
“He started it.”
Will laughed.
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You smiled at her.”
“I smile at people.”
“Exactly.”
Rae pointed at Remi.
“See? We’re the same.”
Remi nodded.
“Exactly.”
Del shook her head.
“You two are ridiculous.”
Elijah smiled.
“You’re not exactly innocent.”
Del looked at him.
“I am.”
Elijah raised an eyebrow.
“You nearly threatened a warrior because he complimented me.”
Del’s eyes widened.
“I did not!”
Elijah laughed.
“You absolutely did.”
Rae looked around the table.
“So we’re all just admitting we’re territorial now?”
Trey squeezed her hand.
“Apparently.”
Will looked at Remi.
“I’m fine with it.”
Remi smiled.
“Me too.”
Elijah reached for Del’s hand.
“Same.”
Elaine watched the three couples with amusement.
“I’m beginning to understand why the warriors are afraid of you girls.”
Marcus laughed.
“They should be.”
Rae pointed at him.
“Exactly.”
Then a nervous warrior appeared in the doorway.
His eyes immediately landed on Rae.
He froze.
Rae slowly looked at him.
The warrior swallowed.
“Alpha.”
Trey looked at him.
“What is it?”
The warrior hesitated.
“I just came to deliver the patrol report.”
Rae smiled sweetly.
The warrior’s face went pale.
“And you haven’t been searching my mate again, have you?”
The warrior shook his head so quickly everyone almost laughed.
“No, ma’am.”
“Good.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
He immediately turned around and left.
The entire room erupted.
Trey leaned toward Rae.
“You really terrified him.”
Rae shrugged.
“He learned.”
Trey laughed.
“You’re unbelievable.”
Rae smiled.
“And you’re mine.”
Trey’s wolf purred again.
Mate.
Trey squeezed her hand.
“Always.”
Remi looked at them and smiled.
For all the chaos…
For all the supernatural secrets…
For all the danger waiting outside…
They had found something none of them had expected.
Family.
Mates.
And apparently…
A pack full of warriors who were now terrified of three women.
