Chapter Nine It was still drizzling when they left the chapel. Camilla didn’t think it should rain on the day that she’d been asked on a date. The sun should shine and the birds should be singing. She’d seen a musical like that once. She imagined herself dancing and singing as they entered the restaurant. Mrs. Martin took Camilla to a cafeteria for lunch. Camilla would have preferred hamburgers, but she made do with fried chicken, Jello, and strawberry shortcake. It was surprisingly good. She’d talk Evie and Tamara into giving cafeterias a try.
