Chapter Twelve
The conversation with the policewoman had frightened Camilla. Did she think Camilla might have killed Ronny? To be sure she wasn’t implicated; she checked the back lot for a new body. The police might arrest her if they found Ronny there. She had been angry with him. Would they believe she had reason to kill him?
It was a relief to find the ground smooth and level, except for the receding bumps that had already been there. Then, a terrible idea occurred to her. She was not the only one with a motive. He had stolen money from Mrs. Martin. Was it possible she might have gone to his apartment and shot him? Maybe she made a habit of killing people who made her angry.
Mr. Martin had cheated on her with his girlfriends. That was a reason for revenge. She might have killed Ronny
