I'm sorry," Samantha apologized, "I didn't mean it that way."
"Sorry," Teegan said, calming down, "it's just that it can cause problems as well. I usually just block it. I'm only showing you so you understand."
"No one else should know about this," I said.
"We're sort of hiding," Teegan added, nodding her head. "There are people who shouldn't know where I am. I'm sure they've forgotten about me by now, but you never know."
"Who are you?" Gene asked. Teegan covered her face with her hands and turned away. I moved quickly to her side.
"Our daughter," Sam said. I could feel him sitting up and knew he took it as personally as Teegan did.
"I didn't mean anything by it," Gene said, confused.
"Think before you talk," Samantha said, putting her arm around Teegan.
