Chapter 10

3206 Words
Sitting on the high stool chair, I am watching Ace cooking our late breakfast. After our intimate scene in his bathroom, he let me change on his shirt and boxer shorts. I honestly don't know how will I go home wearing these. I can only imagine Remy's reaction and mocking smile. "Uhh, Ace?" I called. He is busy making french toast. When he turned to me, he already has a plate of food in both of his hands. He is only wearing sweatpants and remains topless, making me look at his body instead of the food. I didn't notice that my stare got a little longer than I should be. When I met his eye, he smirked. "Want another round?" he teased. I simply avoided my gaze and rolled my eyes inwardly. He places our food on the table. He went to my side and sat on the vacant seat beside me. I shot an eyebrow up. He can sit across me. Why does he need to come closer? Even I am not looking at him, I can feel him smirking. I ignored his mocks and started focusing on my food. I ate a big portion of the bread and put a sliced strawberry into my mouth. I chew a little and put another portion of the bread even I am still not yet done with the first. 'Gosh, I'm so hungry!' I was about to add another portion into my mouth when I realize Ace is staring at me. "What?" I sputtered and turn my head in his direction. My word is hardly recognizable due to my food left unswallowed. "You didn't change. You still get very hungry after sex." I froze. His expression looks very calm-- as if he didn't say something that would ruin our fine moment. "I'm not the same naive girl that you used and f*ck in high school," I spat. I glued my eyes on my food, avoiding his line of sight. I can't talk to him about the past while looking into his deep eyes. I know I'll get lost. 'Really, Kiya? Maybe you're not naive but he still uses and f*cked you today. So what's the difference?' I asked, roasting myself. "I didn't use you. And it is not f*ck, Kiya. It's making love."  I turn to him and shot my eyebrow up. After I saw him kissing another girl while we're still together? 'Making love' my ass. Pure bullsh*t!  "Then why did you cheat?" I snapped. I aggressively turn my head to him. He didn't even flinch on his seat. He is still calmly looking at me, not affected by my rising anger. 'Ding dong' 'Ding dong' Ace sighed before standing from his seat. He went to the door and attend to whoever knocked. "Good morning, sir!" I don't see who it was since Ace's massive built is covering the small space of the open door, but base on his voice. It's a man. "Thank you, Kier." Ace answered and closed the door between them.  Before he completely closes the door, I got a glimpse of a man who's probably one of his bodyguards. I twitched my eye. He looks familiar. I think I saw him before. When he went back to our table, he is now holding a matte blue paper bag. He placed it in front of me.  "Change your clothes after you eat." He turns his back and walked in the opposite direction. I confusingly turn to him when he didn't sit back on his food. "You won't eat?"  "I'll change first. We will go to the mall after." My forehead furrowed. "You won't go to work?" "I've already canceled all my meetings." "Why?" He sighed. I pressed my lips together. I despise him for what he did years ago and for insensitively opening it up. However, I don't want to piss him off.  "I'll make time for you today." I didn't answer. I blinked twice, trying to interpret his reply.  I still haven't done decoding his answer when he added a more confusing statement.  "Sorry about last night." With that, he completely left me at his dining area and went straight to his room. 'What about on what happened four years ago? When will you apologize?' With a confused mind, haywire thoughts, and a heart filled with mixed emotions, I continued eating.  ***** "Why do you want to go to the mall instead of your work? I thought you're a busy man," I asked right after he sat on the driver's seat. I am currently wearing a white silky sleeveless top and paired with a black leather skirt that had a mid-thigh length. I also wear black flat lacy gladiator sandals. "I already answer that," he responds while buckling his seatbelt. "I'm not buying it." I hissed. He what? He cancels his meetings to have time with me? What a big joke! "You don't have to." I rolled my eyes and focus on the sight outside my window. 'If I know, he was being devoured by his lustful desires which made him not want to go to his work! Pervert ass!' The mall is very near his condominium. It will only take less than ten minutes to go here.  "Where do you want to eat?" I shrugged my shoulder as a response. Has he forgotten that we ate before we left his condo?  "I'm still full," I answered in a 'duh'- tone. Ace placed his hand on the small of my back, guiding me to the entrance of the mall. "Then, where do you wanna go?" he asked as we enter. "You're the one who insists on going here!"  I can't believe this man! We go here without a concrete plan? This is so unlikely for him. He sighed. He probably notices my irritation. Who wouldn't? He's here wasting his time instead of working his ass off to make their company larger than it already is! When I roamed my eyes on the familiar place of the mall, I noticed Jake following us. Aside from that, I saw a familiar man with the same body built as Ace, eyeing us from behind.  My eyebrow moved as if they wanted to meet each other.  "Someone's following us. It's Jake and an unknown guy," I whispered to Ace.  "It's Jake and Kier. They are always with me but today, I told them to keep their distance." I fixed my stance. Of course, he would hire a bodyguard for himself. He is now a CEO of a multi-billionaire company and not a delinquent high school bad boy.  We turn left to one of the stores. It's a*****e full of clothes for women. There is a rack filled with dresses. On the other side, there are tops, skirts, and other types of bottoms that are hanging on the shelves and perfectly organized. "Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs...?" We are welcomed by a saleslady wearing a black fitted uniform dress. She smiled at us as her eyes landed on Ace's hand resting on my waist. "Macneil," Ace continued. I fake cleared my throat, "It's Miss for me," I corrected. The sales lady's wide smile slowly turns into an awkward one. Ace turned to me but he didn't say anything. I shot an eyebrow up at him. "A-Ah! W-what clothes are y-you looking for, s-sir... m-ma'am?"  "I won't buy." "Anything that suits her." We replied at the same time. I look at him but his eyes already traveled to the whole store.  "I won't buy," I repeated, in case he didn't hear.  However, he ignored me. Instead, he continued eyeing the clothes stack in front of him. "Kindly hand me the black long sleeves dress," Ace commanded to the saleslady. The saleslady laid the dress in front of us. I crossed my arms over my chest and sighed.  "Try this one." "I told you, I won't buy," I whispered. The saleslady is still in front of us and I don't want to start a fuss here. "I don't have money," I lowered my voice more. I know my excuse won't work since I am aware that he will be paying for it. And that's exactly the reason why I don't want to buy one. "Just fit it," he argued. "What for? I told you--" "I have to buy it for someone else. You have the same body size as her." I want to call all the gods and goddesses upon hearing what he said. I harshly grab the dress from him and force myself to smile at the saleslady. I didn't dare to look back at him and went straight ahead to the dressing room. "This. Is. So. F*cking. Embarrassing!" I whispered to myself right after I closed the door behind me. I placed the dress in front of me. "Same body size as her?" I mimicked what he answered. "Ha! Did he blatantly said that he's f*cking girls other than me?!" I continue ranting while my eyes glared at the dress hanging in front of me as if I wanted to murder it with both of my hands. I blew out a harsh air before fitting the dress. It's a low-neckline black long sleeve dress that shows my cleavage. It is also designed as a backless dress that shows almost all of my bareback.  I look at myself from the reflection of the full-length mirror glued on the wall. This is honestly my type of dress. However, it's a bit uncomfortable to me since the waistline doesn't fit. It's a bit lose.  I walked out of the dressing room. Ace is leaning forward on the wall while three of the saleslady are lining up in front of him with different types of clothes on their hands. I even saw one of them smiling seductively at Ace. As I walk near them, I heard Ace talked to one of the saleslady holding a lacy red dress. "I don't like a less conservative dress."  When he noticed me approaching, he turns his head at me. His eyes traveled from my head to my toes. His line of sight went back to my chest and back to my face.  "Change," his hooded eyes pierced into me as I shot my brow up. "You're the one who let me change into this..." I whispered to myself. "Give her a size 24 waistline." All the saleslady in front of him obeyed what he said. I went back to the dressing room. A saleslady followed me from behind. Before I went inside, she handed me a floral summer dress.  "Miss, sir Macneil asked me to hand this to you," she smiled curtly.  I smiled back and politely accepted it even I want to smash it on the shiny tiled floor of the mall.  "Damn that man! Why does he have to use me to buy his girls' dresses?!" I unwillingly change to the dress given by the saleslady. Unlike the dress earlier, this one fits exactly on me.  I twisted the knob of the door to get out. My eyes widened when I was welcomed by a line of salesladies waiting for me. Just like earlier, they have a dress on their hands. "Do you have a yellow one for this?" Ace asked, pertaining to the dress that I am wearing. The one I'm currently on is white. "Yes sir, we have a yellow one for this design," answered the saleslady who handed me the dress earlier. "I'll get it."  The girl smiled widely and nodded to Ace. She immediately went off to get what Ace requested. "Fit the other one," he spat as he looks back at me. I harshly sigh, not wanting to do what he said. My eyes scrutinized the saleslady lining up in front of us. "You're not gonna let me fit all of these dresses, right?" I sarcastically asked as I point to probably ten salesladies. "You should start changing now if you want us to finish early." Damn! ***** I am glaring at nowhere as we exit the store. Ace attempted to place his hands over my shoulders but I aggressively shrug it off. "Thank you, sir Macneil, miss! Please come again!" shouted enthusiastically by the manager of the store. Of course, she's happy. Who wouldn't be grateful if a multi-billionaire almost bought all the clothes in your store? "How many of your girls have the same vital statistics as me?" I ranted. I harshly blew out a sigh that made the hair strands blocking my view, flew aside. He once again tried to reach out to me by snaking his free hand on my waist while the other one is holding four large paper bags from the store. "Get off." He immediately obeyed.  "Why are you so pissed off?" he asked while smirking.  I walk faster but he easily catches up to my pace. My body collided with him when he easily pulls me back like a spring. "What the--"  Before I can complain, a man wearing an employee uniform welcomed us. "Good afternoon Mr. and Mrs.--" "It's Miss for me," I answered with emphasis. The guy made a confusing look as his eyes darted on Ace's hands resting on my shoulders. I simply shrug it off. The guy smiled at us and welcomed us to the store. "What are we doing here?" I asked while my eyes roamed at the school supply store. "Kristine is already in 6th grade, right?" I stopped mid-step. I turned in his direction. He's busy eyeing the schoolbags placed on the rack as I stare at him with pure confusion. "Bags for 6th grader girls, sir?" asked the guy who welcomed us earlier. "We have newly released designs perfect for them!" he continued. He then pulled out an average size bag and opened it in front of Ace. He showed the interior and explained how and where it was made. "So, sir? Have you already decided?" asked the guy. "If you were planning to buy this for Kristine, stop it," I protested. "What's your sisters' favorite color?" he asked, ignoring what I said. "I can buy it myself!" I argued, slightly pissed. "Answer me before I decided to buy all the available colors," he answered.  I glared at him. However, he seems not to care. He shot a brow at me, waiting for an answer. He then turns his sight to the man waiting for him to decide. "How many colors do you have--" "Purple... P-purple is Kristine's favorite color," I answered. I know he's not fooling around when he said he will buy all the colors. Damn this man and his limitless money!  "I'll take the purple one." The guy happily obeyed and went off to get the bag. Ace went to the side where the shopping baskets are located. He grabbed one and started walking around the store. I follow him and walk by his side.  He picked different school supplies such as notebooks, school papers, reading materials, and boxes of pens with different colors.  "If it is for Kristine, forget it," I spat and attempted to put back the things he picked but he kept on putting them back in the basket.  "Does your sister wears make-up?" he turns to me and innocently asked. He once again ignores my warning. "Kristine is only 12." "So she doesn't wear make-up..." he whispered to himself. "Sir!" We both turn to the guy who assisted us earlier. He is now with the purple school bag that Ace requested.  "I'll buy it." I shut my eyes tightly before following them to the cashier. ***** "I'll pay for the things you bought for my sister," I convinced. He only glances at me and started maneuvering the car. "I have the right to give gifts, Kiya..." His eyes are glued on the road but he kept on insisting. "And I already said no--" "The gifts are not for you," he interrupted. "Heeey! I have the right to say 'no' since she's my sister!" He suddenly turns left. It made me clung onto his seatbelt even I know I won't be out of balance. He then made a drift and smoothly parked the car. I looked outside the window. We are already at the parking lot of his condo. I forgot that from the mall, it wouldn't take half an hour to get back in his place.  "Your sister has the right to decide whether or not she will accept the gift." He didn't wait for me to answer and went straight out of the car. I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and followed him.  I saw him unloading the things he bought from the mall. Right after he closed the passenger's door. The familiar black SUV parked right beside us. The window of the driver's side rolled down. Jake, as well as his other bodyguard, Kier, nods at Ace as a sign of greeting. "Here..." I furrowed my forehead on the paper bags that Ace is giving to me. I didn't accept them, living Ace's hand hanging on the air. "Why would you give all of THOSE to me?!" I hissed. "It's for you and your sister." "But why--" "If you don't want to, I'll just give them directly to your sister." My eyes widened. "Jake," he called. "Yes, sir?"  "Let's go to her house--" "NO NEED!" I aggressively grabbed the paper bags from his hand. I gave him a glare and mimick some cursed words. 'How dare him to fool me!' He grinned at my reaction as I stomped my feet and entered his vehicle. But before I can get in on the SUV,  a tall blonde girl wearing fitted leather jeans and a red tank top appeared.  "Ace." Samantha the b*tch. Samantha darted her gaze at me. She displayed her disdain and shot an eyebrow at me. I thought we will once again land our hands on each other's cheeks, however, she only smirked. Her eyes stopped on the paper bags that I am currently holding. "Gold digger?" 'What the heck did this b*tch said?!' "What--" "What are you doing here?" Ace suddenly meddled. I glared at him.  "You'll probably throw her out after hearing what I'll say..." she uttered with full confidence. She eyed me from head to toe as if she's disgusted with me. "Jake, bring Kiya home." "I want to hear what she'll say," I firmly responded. I stared fiercely at Samantha. I'm not sure if it is brought by the bitterness of the past but her blonde hair and cat eyes looked very annoying. "Jake, take her home."  I turn to Ace. He's calmly looking at Samantha yet the emphasis of his words is dominating. I heard Samantha's smirk as Jake opened the SUV's door from behind, motioning me to get in. "Fine, I'll go now," I didn't try to hide the irritation in my voice as I face Ace. But before I completely hopped into the car, I said something that will certainly ruin Samantha's mood. "Thank you for the last night, Ace. I enjoyed it," I smirked. I glance at Samantha's frowned expression before shutting the door between us. -----  Unedited. Expect typo and grammatical errors. ----- A Night With My Ex by: Joanne Cristel ©2021
