Chapter 4

1134 Words
Aurelia's POV I opened my eyes, picking my up from the ground. It was dark, like I was staring into a void. There wasn't anything around me as I stood up. Where am I? Was I dead or asleep? I had never experienced anything like this before. "Hello?" I called out into the darkness, nothing but my echo called back. Deciding to get up, I began to walk, just then I began to see red sparkles in the distance. I quickened my pace so that I could figure out what it was. "Aurelia Rose will you be my bride?" Samuel's voice echoed throughout the void. "Samuel?" I looked around confused because I did not see anyone. Or anything. What was going on..? Just then I remembered the burning feeling.. The syringe. Uncle hitting me. Everything. The air started to become cold and I shivered, the black void crumbling slightly, creating a doorway. I watched as snow fell on the other side and I walked through. It was very cold and I looked down, realizing the long flowing red dress I was wearing. The dress was beautiful but was not doing much to insulate me. I looked at the thick snow falling on the ground and kept walking. It was a road in the middle of a forest. Just then, a car drove past me and I saw about five wolves run out into the road, causing the car to swerve. This felt familiar.. Walking closer to the car, I watched a woman holding a small child crawl out with a man in front of them blocking them from the wolves' view. The woman had blonde and red hair... It's my mom and the child was me. This was the "accident". I looked towards the wolves and saw one shift into a human. It was Uncle Rhoman. Why would he be here? I thought he did not find us until after the accident? "Now what do we have here gentlemen?" Uncle Rhoman laughed with a vicious smile. He started to move closer to my parents with the other wolves, which erupted a snarl from my father. "How about you give me those dragons of yours, Alpha Volos. I must say I would love to have that Luna of yours.." My father growled loudly, claws elongating from his hands. "I'm not giving you s**t! Get out of here or I will hurt all of you!" He looked back at me and my mom before quickly looking back at the men. My mom looked down at her stomach and then me before making me hide behind her. Uncle laughed loudly as he had heard something very funny. "My my Alpha Volos. I would love to see you try to beat me and my men. The only chance you'd have at winning is if you weren't injured and if your sweet sweet mate wasn't pregnant. We both know you two don't want to risk your little baby pups life in there right?" In response, my dad began to shift before he pounced on top of my uncle. Why would they fight if they were siblings? Just then, two wolves jumped at my dad and the other two at my mom. They grabbed her by the arms, ripping flesh. I remember this moment.. How hadn't I recognized that Rhoman wasn't my uncle this whole time? How did I not notice that he was my parents' murderer? "Aurelia run!" My mom screamed and I listened, running quickly through the forest like my life depended on it. I now remembered the fear that was running through me that day and I began to see the red sparkles from before, so I ran after them. This wasn't real right now, I had experienced this 13 years ago. This had to be a dream. The red sparkles began to grow brighter as I got closer. "You are so beautiful Aurelia. I can't wait for you to birth beautiful hybrid pups." I heard Samuels voice echo again as the world dissolved to black around me again. I needed to find a way to wake up but I don't know how. Soon enough, I got close enough to the sparkles that they started to come together in the form of a big creature. It had scales and wings and it was huge. It peered down at me from above. "What are you?" I asked, holding out my hand to touch it. The creature bowed its head, allowing me to touch it. The sparkles began to change, creating actual scales and the creature took on a white and red color. Mainly white with reddish pink at its ends... Just like me and mom's hair.. I gasped, patting its large head. It peered at me with its bright blue eyes, they almost seemed to sparkle as they looked at me. "You shouldn't be here my dear." The creature spoke. It had a very familiar feminine voice. "Mom?" My voice cracked as I hugged the creature. "I thought you were dead." "I am Aurelia. It is not your time to join me with the Moon Goddess, my love." My mother spoke softly, she began to glow before shrinking back into a human. She patted my hair and hugged me. "You still have a lot to do." I looked up into her eyes and started crying, "But I don't know how.. What do I do? A-and what were you just now?" She wiped my tears, humming softly. "I cannot tell you what to do. But we are dragons dear. The last of a great bloodline. You are all that is left, so you cannot die or let yourself be used by someone like them." Dragons? I had heard Rhamon talk about him being a werewolf once and thought I was the same... Is that why Samuel said we would have.. hybrid pups? "I have to go Aurelia. Escape for me please." My mom said, beginning to let go, which caused me to cry harder. "No! Please don't leave me again!" I screamed into the abyss, watching my mother fade from my life a second time. It was dark again without the presence of my mother and I continued to walk, since there was nothing else that I could do. "The Ivagilda seems to be doing the trick, Sam. Good job, son, she is complying very well." Rhamon's voice echoed. Ivagilda? That must be whatever Samuel injected me with. I laughed bitterly at myself. Samuel is Rhamons son. No wonder they looked so alike. "How could I be so naive? Maybe I deserve to rot here alone." I mumbled to myself. But that won't help anyone. If I did nothing, then I would be allowing myself to be controlled. They would get what they want and I can't allow that.
