CHAPTER 5 - CHASING HER BACK

ALPHA XANDER’s POV

“Get out now before I order my men to cut you into pieces … you two-faced snake!” I raved again at Bridget. She scrambled up from her kneeling position and dashed out of my office.

I banged my table aggressively. My best friend was the angriest, he had been alerting me these past month about investigating Bridget and the whole issue which I had.

Today I just found out about her hidden secret. She had lied about the video. It wasn’t Jada in the video, it was Bridget herself. She had edited it and added Jada's face to it. Everything I thought Jada said was uttered by Bridget.

“Gather the men … we keep scouring again today..” I told my furious beta. He looked at me in contentment and sauntered out of my office to gather the men as usual.

My memory wandered to the day I rejected my mate brutally in my anger. I tried to summon her the next day to hear her part of the story but my guards couldn’t find her.

Filled with turmoil and anger, we started the search on that same day, but I couldn’t find her. For the past year now, I have sent out my men and searched all over personally for her.

Although I was angry with her and the treachery, my heart still couldn’t bear her being away from my side and my mansion. Today the emotion got worse because I found out she had been innocent all along.

“Yes … she’s there in the white ice pack. I sent some men to check and they verified it!” My beta informed me, breathing heavily as he ran after me.

Immediately he told me about my mate's location, I shut down the meeting with the pack council members and hurried out of there, ordering my soldiers to come with me.

My beta was trying hard to keep the same pace with me but I couldn’t wait any more seconds, my whole body and soul was already in the white ice pack and I had to get my mate out of there.

I would have fled if I could, “the fact that she has our twins with her, without my knowledge… “I would strangle Eros, he knows she is my mate and he kept her there for a year!” I yaped angrily at my beta.

We were now in the car, heading straight for the white ice pack, with about ten cars following us. “You can’t entirely blame Jada… in your moment of rage, you lost control, you should have listened to her, I guess she’s taking revenge” he apprised me sincerely.

I knew he was telling the truth and that’s why I would do everything to get us back together, seek her forgiveness too, but right now I need to bring her back to her home and pack.

We got there after some hours and Alpha Eros was expecting us. He had lined up his fighters and they were ready for war. I laughed angrily. “He’s such a stupid man”, I thought to myself.

“I want my mate and twins… I will leave here peacefully once you give them to me and I will forget about what you did”, I told him once we met face to face.

“I’m not giving them to you? They belong to me now and she doesn’t want to come with you!” He snarled at me, adding more anger to my already hot head.

I ordered my soldiers to engage in war and we started combating. All through the day we battled hard and long. I searched for my mate everywhere in his pack house. I knew she would be somewhere in the palace but she didn’t come out to me.

It was sure to Alpha Eros and his men that I would win the battle. They all know how strong I’m, but they still put their lives on the line for Jada, infuriating me the most. I should be the only man putting my life on the line for her. Not Eros.

On the second day of the battle, a young lady came to me and whispered some secrets about Eros to me, giving me a quick edge over the battle.

She also told me where my mate was and I headed there at once. When Jada saw me she tried to run but I caught her and bundled her and my twins first inside my car.

She was screaming and yelling curses at me for leaving her and asking me to leave her with Alpha Eros. I ignored her all through and focused on keeping her safe first in the car with lots of guards to protect her.

Then I went back onto the battlefield. I didn’t kill Eros, but I ridiculed him in public, warning him.

To stay away from my mate and my twins.

“My name is Emilia and I’m his mate … can I follow you to your pack? He will kill

Me after what I did today…” the young lady who gave me the information appealed to me as we marched out of Eros’s pack house.

I agreed and took her along with me. She saved me so much time and energy today and helped me to find my mate. I should help her as well.

“Jada … I know you hate me right now but you need to listen to me!” Emilia told my fuming mate. I gestured to her to say whatever she wanted to say. My mate was quiet and didn’t respond to her.

We were in my car and heading back to the Golden Brass pack. The Nannies had taken the twins from my mate just to make sure she wouldn’t escape. They were in another well-guarded car. I will use them to keep her with me until she forgives me.

“Alpha Xander… I have been trying to tell Jada but she wouldn’t listen, Alpha Eros is my mate and I love him so much but he isn’t who she thinks he is…. We are enemies. I know Jada but I will tell you the truth…

Jada finally looked up from her lap. Still frowning, she gave her attention to Emilia at last.

“He’s a pretender and he plans to kill your twins very soon…. He has that plan all set up and threatened me never to tell you, he’s obsessed about keeping you all to himself and would even kill those innocent babies …

Jada shook her head in uncertainty and hung her mouth open. The news was alarming to her but not to me because I had conducted all my investigations on Eros.

Emilia peeked at me, her eyes asking why I wasn’t surprised at the news, “I know all about it Emilia… if you were lying about needing my help and pretending to enter my pack as a spy…. I would find out as well. I’m the Lycan king, remember”. I told her, making sure to add some hint of authority to my stern voice.

She smiled sadly at me and turned to the horrified Jada to continue … “he beats me up and sells my body to other Alpha for money .. Before you came into our pack, he promised to marry me but altered his mind. Once he saw you, I was angry…:

“Are you sure about all of these? Emilia, you should have told me!” My mate finally talked to her, her voice filled with concern and fright.

“I did… I told you but you reported me and he beat me up again, threatened to kill me and my old mother ….” Emilia broke down into tears and my mate hugged her, our eyes met but she glared at me.

“He will do all of that to you if you marry him, jada… he will beat you up and sell your body…” Emilia wailed into my mate's chest.

I didn't want to hear any more of her confessions. They were getting me angry, “nobody will hurt Jada… not anymore!” I declared, looking deep.

Into my mate's green eyes, she looked away from me, her eyes teary and filled with anger towards me.

“John, drive fast… we need to get home as soon as possible” I lashed out at my driver. I couldn’t wait to be alone with my mate. We have a lot to talk about, but first of all

I need to feel her body and claim her once again, she’s mine and mine alone.
