Third Person POV
Cory was standing in the kitchen with his laptop placed on the Island. He sipped some coffee and busily typed at the same time. Mike, his father's beta, walked up to him and tried to grab his attention.
"Mr. Vandyke Jr..." he called him, but Cory didn't look up from his work on the laptop. He only lifted his eyebrows.
"Yes?"
"Detective Simon Parker is here to see you." Beta Mike informed him.
Cory frowned, and for the first time, he looked away from the laptop monitor. He thought the detective was supposed to be investigating the attacks against his dad. Why was he here to see him?
"What for?"
"I don't know." Mike replied, "Why? Do you think he suspects you or something?"
