Damien's POV The journey to Veredentia, which I realized was my destination, had been exhausting. It was by truck with me in and out of consciousness; the few times I was awake were when I was being fed or put to sleep. They had given me a small tin where I was supposed to relieve myself throughout the journey. I had no idea how long we’d traveled or how much time I’d lost while sleeping. The next time I woke up, I realized something was different. Darkness gave way to the dim, flickering light of a torch, casting eerie shadows on the rough-hewn stone walls of an underground chamber.
