Kelly couldn’t believe Jon and Chris had both refused to watch her play in the Halloween Classic Open Chess Tournament. She understood Chris, who had gotten so weird he never left the basement. She had tried several times again to read his thoughts and come up empty, but how could that be? That had never happened before the cave, though late, he blocked her the same way Jon did.
