KELLY The demon that held Travis was husky and strong. Travis pulled at the hand that covered his mouth, but it wouldn’t budge. “Shhh,” it said in a whisper. “Keep it down. The place might cave in.” Kelly knew that voice. Travis recognized it too and quit struggling. The “creature” let him go. She lit another match. “Dr. Parrish!” They both ignored the man’s warning to keep quiet and jumped into his arms, hugging him fiercely. Kelly hardly knew the guy, but she was so glad to see him, well there just weren’t any words for it. Having an adult with them made everything seem more hopeful. Parrish must have felt relieved, too, because he hugged them back. Kelly dropped the match, and the cave went black again. She couldn’t believe it.
