Into his hands

The cold air was affecting my lungs which kind of slowed my breathing. I couldn't see clearly because the forest was very dark which made branches and thorns scratch my skin . A sharp pain pierced my arm. "Ouch!" I cried, quickly pulling out the thorn that found its way in my skin. I did not stop . Behind me I could still hear howls from afar . “ What if"? " Imagine Aaron getting his hand on me, my baby “ I thought to myself. I still remember that look he gave me when he met me in the hallway. His expression was dark and cold like always. Each step I took felt very heavy and shaky . It was as if my body was ready to give up before I did . My cloak was already torn near my shoulder. I was bleeding profusely from my arm and I had mud cover the bottom of my clothes as if it were a design. My hair was in a mess. Tangled with leaves and twigs . I didn't know how long I was running, “maybe hours” I thought to myself The moon was high above the trees. It looked cold and pale, shining silver light on the forest. I had no idea where I was going Everything looked the same, dark and endless. The only thing in mind was to get myself and my baby far away from Aaron and Ravenna . “ No I can't, I need to rest “ I muttered to m myself holding my stomach. Slowing down a nearby tree I managed to use it to hold myself up. My body was shaking from being so tired. Then….. A twig snapped at my back. I wrapped my arms around myself and listened. I dared not to breathe My body got stiff. It was quiet. It did not feel like normal quiet; it felt like someone was watching me or probably following me. I turned around slowly. My heart started beating faster. I can't see anybody or anything, just leaves and branches that can make shadows and shapes which can scare someone but not really me . Maybe it was an animal. “Maybe it was just an illusion or my imagination “ I thought to myself. IThen another branch cracked, closer this time. My fingers curled tightly around my clothes as my eyes searched the darkness between the trees. I gently stood up , my heart beating faster than normal and started walking backwards. Who’s there?” My voice came out weaker than I expected There was no answer, just the wind moving through the trees. Then this hideous laugh echoed through the forest . It was as if my breadth had ceased for one terrible second. My eyes were kind of failing me as I spun around. Fear seemed to finally make its way into my body . I couldn't figure out where the laughter was coming from. Fear made it hard for me to breathe. A figure came out of the darkness dirty with wild eyes. Then two more appeared. I needed nobody to tell me they were rogues. They smelled like blood and violence. I knew they did not have any pack loyalty or control. My stomach. One of them looked me over before smirking. "Look what wandered into our territory". He said with his rough voice I stepped back immediately . “ I don't want trouble” . That seemed to amuse them. “ You smell like a pack wolf, “ one muttered. “Not just an ordinary pack, an expensive one”he eyes narrowed The statement felt like a dagger pierced through my heart .The humiliation in those words that came out from that rogue mouth hit harder than I expected. From their facial expressions one could tell they were no longer amused. They were hungry! . My heart was beating fast and I turned and took to my heels. I could hear growls behind me. They were faster, much faster than me because I was very weak and exhausted and my wolf wasn't strong enough. They chased me. One of them grabbed my cloak and pulled me down. I hit the ground hard. Cried out and then someone grabbed my arm and dragged me back. “ She's got claws “ Fear and adrenaline came flooding through my body. I kicked and managed to bite the arm that was holding me. I used my claws to rip a handful of his flesh . The rogue yelled in pain and I got away and grabbed a branch. I held it in front of me with a shaking hand "Stay away from me". The rogues stared at me then burst out laughing. One of them charged at me me . I used the branch to his shoulder He stumbled back. Then he got angry and hit me so hard my vision blurred. I fell to the ground again. They pinned me down. “Stupid bitches “ I cursed. I struggled. I was too weak.I was in pain emotionally and physically .My wolf snarled inside me in desperation but it was too tired. The tallest one came closed to me with a cruel look “ No one here to save you” he said mockingly Then suddenly. One of the rogues froze. The other one looked up. There was silence. It felt like something was watching us. Then I smelled something dark, something powerful. A low growl echoed through the trees . The rogues moved away from me. I saw a massive wolf step out of the darkness. He was enormous with fur and golden eyes. The power coming from him was overwhelming. One of the rogues said "alpha king". I felt my stomach tighten. The alpha king stared at the rogues then shifted his attention to me. His eyes lingered on my face then moved down to my stomach. There was tension in the air. The rogues backed away. The alpha king moved forward. The ground shook beneath his feet . The Alpha King shifted into a man, calm and composed, dark hair falling neatly as golden eyes settled with quiet control. He didn’t look chaotic or wild—just power held so tightly it felt dangerous in its stillness. I forced myself to move and his gaze sharpened. Scars marked parts of his skin and his golden eyes remained fixed on me with unsettling intensity. I forced myself backward slightly. His gaze sharpened instantly. “Who are you?” His voice was deep and cold. I swallowed painfully. “Cassidy.” “Pack?” I went silent My throat tightened. “I don’t belong to one anymore.” Something flickered in his eyes at that statement. The rogues remained completely still behind him. None of them dared move. The Alpha King stepped closer slowly. I could feel the pressure of his aura pressing against my skin now. Dangerous. Ancient. Predatory. His eyes narrowed slightly as if scenting something. For one horrible second I thought he knew. Then his expression darkened. “An outcast wandering alone through a rogue territory.” His voice remained calm. “Either you’re brave or stupid.” “I didn’t come here willingly.” “Yet you’re here.” I didn't say anything His gaze lingered on the bruises forming on my face before shifting toward the rogues briefly. The air around him changed instantly. Killer. The rogues lowered themselves immediately. “Leave,” he ordered quietly. They didn’t hesitate. Within seconds they disappeared into the darkness. Silence returned again. But somehow it felt even heavier now. I slowly pushed myself to my feet despite the pain shooting through my body. “I’ll leave too.” I barely took one step before dizziness slammed into me violently. My knees almost gave out. The Alpha King caught my arm before I could fall. The warmth of his hand against my skin startled me. I tried pulling away immediately. “Don’t touch me.” One of his brows lifted slightly. Even injured and terrified, I was still trying to fight him. Something almost amused flickered across his face for half a second before disappearing again. Then his expression turned cold. “You crossed into my territory illegally.” Fear crept back into my chest. “I didn’t know this belonged to anyone.” “Everything here belongs to someone.” His grip tightened slightly before he released me. I took a small step backward instantly. His eyes swept over me once more. Exhausted. Injured. Alone. Vulnerable. He already knew I couldn’t survive out here by myself. “I’m not going back to any pack,” I said quickly. His expression didn’t change. “That decision isn’t yours anymore.” Shiver ran down my spine “What does that mean?” The Alpha King stared at me for one long quiet second before speaking. “Outcasts don’t roam freely in my territory.” My heart was beating faster Then he spoke the words that made fear settle deep into my stomach. “Take her.” Before I could react, shadows emerged from the trees behind him. Warriors. I froze for a second I turned quickly to run but was very exhausted Strong hands grabbed my arms before I could escape. Panic exploded inside me. “No— let me go!” I struggled wildly but the warriors didn’t even move a flinch. The Alpha King watched me silently. Not cruel. Not kind. Worse. As if he was Interested. And somehow that terrified me more. Because deep down… I had the horrible feeling escaping him would be far more difficult than escaping my old pack.
