She stared at Myra viciously. If eyes could kill, she would have murdered her a thousand times. Victoria had to admit that this lady was beautiful, even though she looked a little dirty. Ginger hair, green eyes, a curvy body… she looked like a fairy. Her face scowled at the thought. This lady was a threat, she needed to get rid of her. “I’m a guest,” Myra answered, remembering Matteo’s words.
Victoria snickered at her response. “Guest? I bet you’re just another w***e or prostitute who came to seduce Matteo. What do you want? Money?” She brought out a wad of cash and threw it at Myra’s face.
“Take it and get out of here. That man is mine. And even if he f****d you, he wouldn’t keep you. After all, who knows how many men you’ve been with? Even I would be disgusted.” Myra’s face hardened, but she didn’t react immediately. She was still unsure of this woman’s status, and acting rashly might mean offending the wrong person.
She looked at the money on the floor, brushed it off lightly, then picked it up and placed it beside her. “Thank you for this. It will go a long way,” she said with a small smile, thinking what she'll buy with the cash when she leaves here.
Victoria was surprised. She had expected anger or at least an argument, she quickly regained her composure and looked at Myra with disdain as she continued eating hurriedly, without any elegance or refinement.
It seemed she was poor. That thought gave Victoria a bit of confidence. If Matteo could be interested in someone like her, then she still had a chance. Another lady in a maid uniform walked in, holding some clothes.
“Hello, Lady Victoria,” she greeted before turning to Myra. “His Majesty ordered me to bring you a change of clothes and show you to your room. If you wish to explore the kingdom, I will be your tour guide."
Victoria was stunned. She didn’t expect Matteo to take interest in someone like her. “What does Matteo mean by this?” she demanded.
The maid bowed her head slightly but remained quiet, which only made Victoria angrier. “I’m asking you a question! Does Matteo plan to give this w***e a title? Do you even know how many men she has been with?” The chair scraped against the ground as Myra stood up, her expression turning cold. She turned to the maid instead. “His Majesty?” The maid nodded. “Yes, His Majesty… the Lycan King.” Myra was stunned. She hadn’t expected him to have such an identity. Victoria noticed her reaction and felt a strange satisfaction. This girl didn’t even know who Matteo was. After a moment, Myra calmed down and looked at Victoria.
“Victoria, I presume,” she said calmly. “It seems you have a misunderstanding about me.” Her voice remained soft, but her words were sharp, “I have no business with His Majesty, if you feel threatened by an outsider like me on the first day, then your relationship with him isn’t as strong as you think. Maybe there is no relationship at all. Maybe it’s just you obsessing over something you want but can’t have.” She gave a small, sarcastic smile. “Get a life. You can’t chase every woman away from him.”
Victoria froze, anger rising inside her, but she held herself back. This wasn’t her house. She couldn’t ruin her image.
Myra turned and left with the maid. Victoria stood there, clenching her fists. She wanted to smash something, but she forced herself to stay calm.
Then her eyes landed on the table. The money was gone. “That b***h…” she muttered under her breath before turning and leaving angrily.
Lyka and Aiden were on their way back to the Crimson Moon Pack. Their car reached the border, and Lyka, who had been quiet all through, finally spoke. “What are we going to tell Dad? He won’t like that the Lycan King refused his proposal… and even threatened to investigate our family’s dealings.”
She felt exasperated. She was used to a life of luxury, used to getting anything she wanted. If they told their father the truth, he might cut them off. How would she survive? Her heart ached the more she thought about it.
She looked at Aiden, then remembered the Lycan King. If Aiden had been more powerful, more of a force to be reckoned with, the Lycan Kingdom wouldn’t dare act so arrogantly. Aiden sighed, “at this point, there is nothing we can do. His Majesty has already made his decision. For now, we’ll call it a truce. But if he finds any implicating evidence against us… we are finished.”
His grip on the steering wheel tightened. “But they can’t find anything… because we have nothing to hide, right?”
Aiden glanced at her with a faint, wry smile. “Right?” Lyka asked again, trying to be sure.
Aiden said nothing, that silence said everything,
“God damn it,” she cursed under her breath. “Where did we even get all our money from? Kidnapping? Drugs? Dealing with rogues? Embezzlement?” Aiden let out a slow breath, unsure of where to begin.
“You have to tell me something,” Lyka pressed.
After a pause, Aiden finally spoke. “It was from the Silver Clan Pack… Myra’s maiden pack.”
