When Two Beasts Fell in Love

Chapter 17

“Big sister, please wake up!" 

These words kept on repeating inside Angelique’s head. She could hear them talking but she couldn't wake up. She tried to move her body, even just her finger, but nothing happened. All she felt was exhaustion. 

Kimberly didn't leave her side. Clark also wanted to stay but the others needed him. He is the next adult to Angelique. He's responsible for their safety and their needs. 

They didn't want to leave, so Serio let them stay at his home for a night. 

“All you need is inside the cabinet,” Serio's wife told them. 

“Thank you, Auntie,” they said in unison. The old woman just smiled and left them. 

They already ate and they were all ready to bed. They were also done with their assignment, so no need to worry about that. 

“When is Big Sister going to wake up?” Pink asked Clark as she sat down on the bed. 

Clark walked to the wardrobe and took some clothes of their size. He gave it to them so they will change. Kevin walked to the bathroom first so the three of them talked first. 

“I don’t know. Because even the doctor can not say when. But we will wait. Big Sister for sure will wake up. You can sleep with her, again." Then, he caressed Pink's head like how Angelique did to her. 

“Okay. I will wait for her," she said then she yawns. She was already sleepy. 

“Hanzel, take her with you.” Hanzel nodded. She was the other girl, so it was her duty to clean up Pink. She was their baby. 

After Kevin came out of the bathroom, both girls got inside the bathroom. They cleaned themselves then changed their clothes. Clark was next. 

When they were all done, they just laid down on the bed and fell asleep. They were all exhausted from waiting for Angelique to wake up. So, they really slept peacefully. 

While on the ward, Kimberly slumped on the side of the bed. She was already tired and sleepy that she couldn't help it anymore. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. 

In a quiet place, stars were shining so bright, and the wind blowing through the window was so fresh. Angelique woke up but fell asleep again. This happened many times and no one could feel it. 

While awake and she couldn't move, she tried to remember what she did. She couldn't remember after she attacked those guys. She didn't know what happened, how she went home, or if she killed those bad men. 

Sleep. Wake up. 

It happened many times until the next morning came. The kids didn't want to leave her, therefore they didn't go to school.  

They waited for Angelique to wake up, and she did twelve hours after she was sedated. The kids were so happy that they hugged Angelique so tight. 

“Big sister, please don’t make us worried again,” Pink said while pouting. Angelique just caressed her and never said a word. She looked at Conor, asking what happened. 

“Your werewolf side took over you and you became violent and a predator. You almost hurt Kimber if I didn't come on time.” Angelique felt guilty after hearing it. She never thought she did a huge amount of damage. 

She looked at Kimberly, full of regret. “I am sorry!” she sincerely said. 

“It was fine. It was not your intention to hurt me. Actually, you just made fun of me. The last thing you said before you fell asleep is that you know me. Then, you boo me too.” Kimberly smiled like she saw a big treasure. “I saw you smile!” 

Everyone was dumbfounded when they heard it. They never saw Angelique smile since the time they knew her. 

“She’s beautiful, right?” But Conor does.

“Yeah,” Kimberly answered then nodded. 

“I couldn't remember about that." Angelique was so confused about how it happened. 

“Because your werewolf side took over you. If it controls you, it will be your end. It was a frightening thing to happen. So, if you don’t want it to happen again, you have to undergo another set of training. It will be done by Serio,” Conor clarified. She understood him. 

If she wants revenge, she needs to control herself first before anything else. Along with great power, there is a great responsibility. If she wanted to protect her loved ones, she needs to protect them first from herself. 

“What will I do?” she asked him, determination could be seen in her eyes. 

Conor admired Angelique's determination. She was really a girl that he knew. The one who never gives up and always thinks about her loved ones. Maybe, she changed in some way, but the young Angelique was still there. Hiding inside her heart, afraid to be hurt again. 

“Rest first, and Serio will tell you the rest.” Angelique nodded. She looked at Kimberly who was smiling at her like she was really happy. “What the matter?" 

“Nothing," she said then shook her head, “I am just happy that you are awake." She was really grateful that her new sister was fine. She didn’t want to lose other important person in her life.

“Won't you go to school?” She changed the topic. 

“No, we do not want to,” Clark said who just came in with the other. Angelique sighed. She couldn’t do anything if they wanted to stay. 

“Okay. We will take a rest.” They all nodded. Pink climbed up the bed and laid on her top. The other sat down on the chair and talked about something. 

Angelique really stayed until she recuperated. The next day, only the kids went to school and Angelique stayed. 

Few more days, she became healthy again. She went to school and kept up with their lesson. She also did the school work she missed when she was excused. Conor called the school for her. 

When the weekend came, she met up with Serio for her training. She was wearing the fitted outfit that Conor made for her, and she tied her hair up.  Her baby fats slowly vanished, so curves can be seen on her body. But no one noticed it since they respect each other.

“Follow me!” he mumbled. Angelique could finely hear it and followed him into the forest. 

It was in a different part of the forest where they live. As they kept on walking, the land became elevated. She concluded that they were walking up the mountain. 

The trees were thick and the air became heavier. It was so hard to breath that her eyes were changing colors. She was suffocating and her werewolf side could feel it. It will come out in order to protect her. 

“Even if your werewolf comes out, you will die in suffocation if you won’t control yourself.” Serio stopped on a small hill and watched her as she struggled to breath. 

Angelique fell to the ground as she caught her breath. Her breath became shallow, her lungs were contracting. It was so hard to breathe and she was fighting with her inner wolf. 

Lycan didn’t have a wolf to talk to. So, it was their own will and really part of them. For Angelique, it was too hard. 

“Be killed or to kill, Angelique? Or you have to control it the same with your breath?” Serio said as he closed his eyes. 

Whoever came inside the forest, only few survived. It was a death trap to those who were not used and trained on it. Serio was already used to it. It was his daily life since he was just a child. As a member of White Fang Pack, everyone should undergo this training. 

Angelique was still struggling to control her breathing but before that, she needed to control the panic she felt. With this panic, it will only agitate her breathing. It became harder to breathe. 

“I can not let this win,” she said to herself. 

Her both hands supported her to sit up straight from the floor. She took a deep breath and then minimized it as long as she could. She also calmed herself and mind. This is the only way for her to measure every breath she took.

She sat up straight like she's meditating. It was the first time that she meditated. She read it before but she never tried because she was busy. 

Angelique closed her eyes then concentrated on her breathing. She remembered their lesson on water, she tried the breathing technique taught by Serio to them. 

Breathing techniques on water were so hard. It will really suffocate you and fill the lungs with water.  But she somehow did it. 

But this time was different because she could feel that her lungs were contracting. It was painful and became harder for her. 

Though, she kept doing the breathing exercise she had learned. She also added some alterations for it to be compatible with this kind of situation. 

While doing it, she encountered another problem. 

The body's reaction when they are suffocating is to faint. She could feel that. She was already losing her consciousness. 

“No!” she screamed. Her claws came out and pierced her palm. With this, she felt the pain and it woke her up. 

She was back to her senses and started to concentrate again. She needed to control herself, and this was one of the methods of how she did it. 

Serio saw how Angelique struggled and how she survived. He smiled. 

“I am not wrong in choosing you… and for sure, my next choice is right too.” he said while smiling and looking at every expression Angelique made.
