I shook my head in disbelief. I was about to walk away when Stella suddenly shrieked.
"Don't let her leave. Mr. Leone's ruby ring is still in her possession!"
The second those words left her mouth, Albert's bodyguards moved in. They grabbed me without hesitation and started trying to pull the ring off my finger.
But the ring had been specially adjusted to fit me perfectly. No matter how much force they used, it wouldn't budge.
"Stella, if this is really your ring, then why does it fit my finger like it was made for me?"
I looked at her with a teasing smile.
That only made Stella even angrier. She grabbed Albert's arm and shook it, her voice full of outrage.
"She must be bigger than me! She probably forced it onto her finger, that's why she can't get it off!"
Albert's eyes turned cold.
"Then cut it off with a saw."
My expression changed instantly.
Damn it. I had come here without my own security team today.
Albert's side had both the numbers and the advantage of being completely ruthless.
I fought back for a while, but eventually they found an opening and pinned me to the ground. My knee crashed against the gravel, and sharp pain shot through me as blood quickly seeped from the wound.
Stella looked delighted. She crouched down in front of me, her bright red nails digging into my chin.
"What happened to all that attitude? Weren't you acting so fearless just a moment ago?"
The next second, she swung her hand and slapped me with all her strength. The rough gravel scraped against my skin, leaving several bloody marks across my face.
Albert stared down at me from above, a cold and twisted smile appearing on his face.
"Stella, your hand must be sore after that. Want to watch something even more entertaining?"
Stella's eyes immediately sparkled with excitement.
"Tie her to the wooden boat in the lake inside the estate," Albert ordered.
My eyes widened.
I stared at the strange excitement flashing across Albert's face.
Did he know something?
"No! If you do this, you'll regret it!"
Stella let out a scornful laugh, her eyes glittering with excitement. "Regret? That's for losers. Tell you what, by the time I'm done with you today, you'll wish you had never laid a finger on what was mine!"
The two bodyguards grabbed me and hauled me across the estate like I weighed nothing, dragging me all the way to the massive man-made lake at the center of the grounds.
They bound my hands behind my back with coarse rope and threw me onto a battered wooden boat that rocked wildly on the lake. Before I could even steady myself, they flipped me over. The chainsaw roared to life with a horrifying buzz, and blood sprayed across the deck.
The pigeon blood ruby on my severed finger caught the light, reflecting my face twisted with agony.
The pain was unbearable. A blood-curdling scream ripped from my throat.
"Well, looks like another i***t who doesn't know when to quit is about to meet her end."
"Such a pretty young woman. What a shame she had to be so stubborn! Mr. Leone won't let her walk away from this. Forget a finger, she might not leave with all her limbs intact."
"It's too much. I can't stand watching this."
The maids and servants stood along the edge of the artificial lake, whispering and gossiping like they were watching some twisted spectacle, but their voices had already faded from my ears.
The agony in my hand sent me into a frenzy. The old wooden boat had been left to rot for years, groaning as it slammed against the waves with every movement. The scene before me looked painfully similar to the nightmare from my past, when my parents had been brutally murdered by their enemies.
The fear buried deep inside me came rushing back all at once.
My face drained of color. My hands trembled uncontrollably as I grabbed my head, while fresh blood ran down my cheek.
"No! Stop! Get me out of here!"
But Stella and Albert only stood on the shore, watching as if they were enjoying the main event.
They even stepped closer and kicked the boat farther out toward the middle of the lake.
I forced my eyes open and saw Stella holding my severed finger, her face glowing with smug satisfaction.
Albert held her in his arms and spoke in a gentle voice.
"The ring is ruined now. It's been stained by that b***h's blood. Throw it away. I'll get you a new one."
With that, they casually threw the ring into the lake while my screams echoed through the entire estate.
"Albert, aren't you afraid the Coppola family will make you pay for this?"
