Angela was on the dining, focusing on finishing the meal she was served. She was grateful that Mrs Olivia was no longer at the table asking her questions she had no clue about. She had just been hiding behind the disguise of memory loss to avert the answers to the questions. She wondered how long she could keep up with the memory loss of a thing.
She ate the last piece of the toast and beans on her plate. She drank some wine and felt her stomach filled. That was when she noticed that Dave had been watching her since. His food was barely touched though he had been eating. She didn't notice that her foodie nature had made her rush the food.
"Are you going to eat the plate also?" Dave mocked with a scornful smile on his lips. "What was I expecting from a low life whose mum couldn't be any better? My bad," he said and returned to his meal. Eating slowly and taking his time to chew before swallowing.
Angela didn't like it when anyone talk ill about her parents. She had forgotten that she had a new mother now. Her mind went to her deceased parents who died years ago in an autocrash and that was when anger began to well up in her. To crown it all, she didn't also like when one uswd her eating habit was used as an object of mockery.
Dave had been the only one picking on her since she got to house. She had been taking every bit of his insults but she wouldn't let this one slide. Shs was going to give it back to him especially now that they were the only ones on the dining.
"Well, how about one who is above twenty but still stick around the mother to eat her food and suck her breast? What do we call such? Overgrown baby?" Angela said. She dramatically held her head and added, "Oh, this memory loss . . ."
She had made it seem like she was tthinking out loud but ensured that Dave heard her. She took a sip from her glass of wine but captured his reaction with the corner of her eyes
"What did you just say?" Dave questioned. His face was grim. All the smirk had vanished from his face.
Angela could see the resemblance he had with his mum now that he was very serious.
"Uh?" Angela said like she had no idea what he was talking about.
"Repeat what you just said now!" Dave boomed. A glare was still pinned at Angela.
Angela was enjoying the fact that he was angry. It was a dose of his own medicine. Didn't he like how it tasted?
To piss him off more, she said," I am sorry. I don't remember what you are talking about. You know I am still recovering my memory."
"Are you messing with me?!" Dave slammed the table and rose up in anger. "How dare you?!"
Angela didn't know if it was her eyes or the lighting in dining but Dave's skin appeared to be getting lighter in complexion as he fumed.
"Dave," a Frednard's voice called and their eyes went towards his direction. He and his mother were walking towards the dining. "What is the problem?"
Dave didn't reply just as Angela had predicted. What was he going to say she said? That she called him a overgrown baby? Shame wouldn't let him utter such though she was going to deny it anyway.
"Nothing," Dave said and walked out.
Everyone's eyes followed him as he took the stairs. His skin colour was back to normal and Angela concluded that she had assumed the sudden whitening of his skin.
When Dave was no longer in sight, their eyes returned to Angela and Angela pretended like she didn't know why he was angry.
"Hey you!" Frednard called "It is time to leave." That was all he said and he walked out of the dining with his mother to continue their discussion.
Angela was left alone in the dining which felt kind of strange but she wasn't concerned. She was jubilating in her mind over her victory against the smug guy who she felt she had handled properly. Her moment of celebration was cut short when she had a voice behind her and her mood turned sore.
"Hey, new slave girl! Get your ass up. We are leaving now."
Angela turned to face her new most annoying person in her new life as she screamed his name in her head – Mac! She pushed her chair backwards to allow her stand up.
"Hurry up, you lazy t**t! I have not got all night to waste on you!" he spat and started walking to the main entrance.
As Angela followed him, she wondered how much of Mac she could put up with. The guy was mannerless and it was getting on her nerve. They got out of the house and the sky was already dark though the huge compound was properly lit up with heavy light bulbs. She wondered how long they had spent in the house since they got there.
She noticed the two guards that came along with Frednard to the hospital, standing beside a **** car but Mac wasn't walking towards it. He got into a **** and switched on the engine. It was then that Angela realised that she was going to be riding alone with the full bearded annoying guy. She sighed as opened the back door of the car.She wanted to avoid him throughout the journey that was why she wanted to sit at the back.
"Get your dumbass to the f*****g front seat! You want to sit a the back. What do you think I am? Your f*****g driver?!" Mac snapped at Angela immediately she opened the back door.
Angela did as Mac said and sat at the front seat. Even though she wished she could give him a piece of her mind about his way of talking to her, she knew she couldn't. Mac had this scary rough apperance that made him look like a savage goon who wouldn't hesitate to hit her hard if she said anything out of place. She knew that she would still stand up against his bullying but now wasn't the right time.
