Chapter 4 First Kiss

214 Words
It happened under the bleachers during football practice, away from prying eyes. Lily was laughing at something Ethan said when he leaned closer, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. Her stomach twisted, heart racing, every nerve alert. She had waited for moments like this but never imagined it would feel so overwhelming. “Lily…” he whispered, his voice low and serious, pulling her attention entirely to him. Her pulse thundered in her ears. She wanted this, wanted him, and wanted to know if he felt the same way she did. Before she could speak, his lips pressed against hers. Soft, hesitant at first, then firmer as if they were discovering a language only they could understand. Her heart leapt. It was electric, sweet, terrifying, and perfect all at once. She melted against him, hands gripping his shoulders, desperate to memorize the moment. When they pulled back, breathless, her cheeks burned. “Wow,” she said, laughing nervously, eyes wide with disbelief. “Yeah…” he replied, voice husky, staring at her with a depth she had never seen. “Wow.” It wasn’t just a kiss. It was a promise unspoken, a shift in their world. Everything after this moment would be different, and for the first time, Lily welcomed it.
