A quiet groan left Catherine as she tried pulling herself to a sitting position, her head throbbed painfully and her stomach ached ever so slightly, a warning that her period wasn’t far off. It took a moment or two for the room to stop spinning and for her eyes to adjust to the rays of sunlight streaming into the room through the slightly parted cream curtains.
