I shook her off like she was nothing, and she stumbled backward into Nathan's arms. The pack members were pressed against the pack house wall now, nowhere left to run. I could smell their terror. I could hear their rabbiting heartbeats. I could see the exact moment they realized they were going to die.
"Maya!" Stephen's voice, commanding and authoritative. "As your Alpha, I order you to stand down!"
I stopped. Turned slowly to face him.
