Amelia's heart pounded, torn between her feelings for Lucas and the realization of the forbidden nature of their connection. "Your Highness, please understand that this can never be. Our worlds are too different." Lucas reached out, gently taking her hand in his. "I don't care about our differences, Amelia. When I look into your eyes, I see a soul that understands and accepts me like no other." "But what about the princess? She is your sister, and you are destined to be king." Lucas's grip on her hand tightened, and he looked into her eyes with unwavering determination. "The princess and I may share blood, but there's something missing between us. It's as if the moon itself brought you into my life to complete the missing piece." "Our connection is forbidden, Lucas. It could bring chaos to the kingdom." Lucas gently brushed a strand of hair away from Amelia's face, his gaze unwavering. "I know the risks, Amelia, but I'm willing to face them. I can't deny what my heart feels." "And what if our love endangers the kingdom and your chance to be king?" Lucas smiled softly, his fingers caressing her cheek. "I'd rather be with you and face the uncertainty of the future than live a life without love. The kingdom can survive upheaval, but I can't survive without you." Their tender moment was interrupted by the distant sound of approaching footsteps. Panic surged through Amelia, and she pulled away from Lucas, her mind racing with the danger of being caught together. "We must go, Lucas," Amelia urged, her voice trembling. "It's not safe for us to be seen together." Reluctantly, Lucas nodded, "Meet me here tomorrow night, at the same moonlit hour. We'll find a way to be together, Amelia, even if it means defying tradition." Amelia gave him a pained smile, "Until tomorrow then, Your Highness." As they parted ways, each step felt heavy with the weight of their feelings for one another. Amelia returned to the cottage, her mind filled with thoughts of Lucas, while he made his way back to the palace. The following night, Amelia found herself drawn to the old oak tree once more. Her heart beat in anticipation, knowing that Lucas would be there, waiting for her. But as she approached their meeting spot, Lucas was nowhere to be found. Panic clawed at her throat, and she called out his name, but there was no response. Just as she was about to leave, a shadowy figure emerged from the darkness. It was Eveline, the treacherous chambermaid who had betrayed them before. "You!" Amelia exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger. "What have you done with the prince?" Eveline's lips curved into a sinister smile. "Oh, my dear, you're in for quite the surprise. Let's just say that the prince has other matters to attend to, and he won't be meeting you here tonight." Amelia's heart pounded with worry for Lucas. "What have you done with him? Tell me!" Eveline stepped closer, "All in good time, my sweet. But for now, know that your little romance with the prince ends here. You're nothing more than a servant, and you'll never be worthy of his love." Fury surged through Amelia, and she summoned her moonlit magic, determined not to let Eveline get the better of her. But before she could act, several palace guards emerged from the shadows, surrounding her. "You're coming with us," one of the guards said, grabbing her by the arm. Amelia struggled, trying to break free, but they were too strong. She cast one last desperate glance at the old oak tree, hoping to see Lucas, but he was nowhere in sight. Amelia found herself imprisoned in the palace's cold and dimly lit dungeon, her mind consumed with worry for Lucas. She knew that Eveline was behind his sudden disappearance, but the treacherous chambermaid's cryptic words left her with a gnawing sense of dread. In her solitude, Amelia couldn't help but replay the moments she had shared with Lucas in the moonlit gardens. His sincere words of affection echoed in her mind, and she couldn't deny the intensity of the feelings that had blossomed between them. Yet, the reality of their forbidden bond weighed heavily on her heart. As the days passed, Amelia's isolation in the dungeon grew unbearable. She longed to see Lucas, to know that he was safe and that their love could defy the odds. But doubts gnawed at her, and she questioned whether they could truly be together. Meanwhile, within the walls of the palace, Lucas was consumed with worry for Amelia. He knew that Eveline was responsible for her disappearance, but he couldn't find any trace of her. Lucas's heart ached for the servant girl who had captured his heart. One night, unable to bear the distance any longer, Lucas sneaked out of the palace, determined to search for Amelia. He ventured into the village, seeking any information that could lead him to her whereabouts. In the village square, Lucas overheard a group of villagers whispering about a secret passage hidden in the palace gardens. Rumors suggested that it led to the underground dungeon where prisoners were held in secret. Lucas returned to the palace and discreetly made his way to the gardens. The moon above bathed the gardens in its silvery light, and Lucas found the hidden entrance that the villagers had spoken of,he ventured into the underground passages, hoping to find Amelia and bring her to safety. Amelia's heart leaped with joy as she heard the sound of footsteps echoing through the dungeon. She rushed towards the source of the noise, and to her surprise and delight, it was Lucas standing before her. "Lucas!" Amelia exclaimed, her eyes brimming with tears. "You found me!" Lucas smiled, his heart swelling with love for the courageous girl before him. "I couldn't stay away. I had to find you." Their embrace was filled with both relief and longing, as if they were trying to convey the depth of their feelings through the touch of their hands and the warmth of their bodies. "I don't care what anyone says," Lucas declared, his voice unwavering. "I love you, Amelia. Our hearts have chosen each other, and I won't let anything or anyone stand in our way."
