Evan stood off to the side, enjoying the show, as Vincent awkwardly tried to sink lower beneath the table. He finally spoke up to intervene, "Alright, let's not make vincent squirm so much."
Vincent chuckled, playing along, "Yes, yes."
But Queenie wasn't having any of it, "Evan, just because vincent's your college buddy doesn't mean you should cover for him. He's got a whole mess about faking his degree hanging over his head, and who knows what else is true or false."
She could turn a blind eye to other things, but a lawyer with a shady past handling Claudie's crucial divorce case? That was something she couldn't ignore.
Evan grinned, "He's got his struggles, sure, but trust me, he's the real deal. He won't let Claudie down."
Queenie was still skeptical, "How can you be so sure?"
