“Why was Joyce frantic when she came home last night?” Tobias asked, walking into Toby’s office. He already knew the answer to the question but wanted to talk to Toby about it before Cameron Davidson arrived. “And where’s Sarah?”
“Sarah has taken her vacation time,” Toby answered, refusing to explain what had gone down with Joyce; mainly because his father already knew. Although he couldn’t avoid the subject for long. “She was owed almost three months, not including long service leave. She said she would start with two weeks and see how I go with Amanda before deciding if she will take longer. From where I’m sitting, Mandy is doing quite well on her first day on the job. As for Joyce, Mum certainly knows what’s happened. I’m surprised you don’t.”
