I'm in a state of panic. I had sent the guards to the airport to pick up Ashley, but one of them just called me to say she's already left without them. This doesn't make sense - we're all waiting for her here at home for a surprise welcome party. Her family is here, our friends are here, and I've been planning this surprise for weeks.
I've been feeling anxious and guilty since our last phone call. I gave her a cold response, but it was only because I wanted to surprise her. I didn't sleep well for days, thinking about her cries and cranky voice. I felt terrible for not being able to talk to her properly.
