My Accidental Luna

Chapter 6

Barrett's POV

I can't believe what I have just heard. She fully opened up to all of us to get "the sad out of the way", I mean what? I honestly had figured I may never fully get her back story even if mates tell each other everything. I started warming up to her only because Heather yelled at me earlier at the beach as I moped that she had a kid already. She went off on me, I mean off, yelling, screaming, embarrassing me about my one night stands and crazy clingers from other packs. Shaw laughed hysterically at me for what felt like a hour after she was done. I still don't want a mate, Ive done fine for four years but my mind still wandered back to her. Shaw would replay her face over and over again in my mind. Her long curly auburn hair framing her face, her pale green eyes that were almost mesmerizing, she had these clusters of freckles only on her nose and along under her eye. Her smile though, that gets me, her smile reached from ear to ear I swear and was the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. When I picked her up I was blown away, she had on a tight form fitting black dress, I could see every single curve of her body. She is toned as well so she definitely works out.

I was shocked to see that she lived with none other than Rebecka, she is a known witch throughout the packs around here. Her practices luckily are good and she has helped my pack out a lot. She helped my mother and father when they first came back to the pack lands as my dad was still very torn apart. Also time to time she comes over to help still when he has his nightmares of the day Brooke died. Of course the one witch I know is currently taking in my mate and her son. I asked about James when I got there but she said he was sleeping already, I'm not going to lie I was a little disappointed but also slightly relieved, I'm not sure that I'm ready to meet him just yet.

It was a quiet drive to the club thankfully it was a short one. Shaw in my head is on high alert as there are a lot of unmated wolves here and she is quite easy to over power if the right wolf wanted to. When I placed my hand on the small of her back electricity shot up through me and I knew it was the mate bond and I'm curious if its the same for her, but she doesn't seem to make any sudden movements so maybe not since she human. She seemed a bit nervous so I had Holden order some whisky before we arrived that way she could maybe loosen up a bit, and boy did she. I got a bit possessive though I did not mean to when they complimented my mate, not so much at Heather but at Sam and Holden. I know they are happy with their mates and this is their Luna but still its the possessive alpha mate in me. She doesn't know about us so I'm trying my best to reign it in so that way we don't have to come out all at once.

I felt her heartbreak the moment she started to tell us about her past. I could not believe the hurt she has been through. No one our age should have to deal with heartbreak like that. I know Rebecka has helped heal her from it a bit as she did with my father but still she was in so much pain and rightfully so. I know she's not ready for a relationship yet but I want to help her through this, again with this stupid mate bond. Shaw wagged as he knew I wanted to help her. "Being a good mate is what will help heal her, it will help bring her to us so we can fully accept each other" "Dude I don't want to fully commit you know this, but I do want to help" "You are so stubborn and that is going to make you weak, plus if you the Moon Goddess who knows how she will punish you." I know I instantly paled at that thought, would the Mood Goddess punish me for not accepting her gift of a Mate?

I was brought back from my thought as I heard her "dance floor "she said. "Wait what's happening?" I asked, "Heather and I are headed to the dance floor, moms only sorry boys!" she laughed. I couldn't help but laugh along with her, "Okay but we will be keeping an eye on you as there are some not so nice people here tonight" I warned. She shot me the biggest smile "Im glad we have you as look out though" then with a hint in her voice which I caught very clearly " I'll make sure to make your watch worth it then" as the two ran off to dance. "She is going to be the death of me" I huffed out then heard stifled laughs from Sam and Holden, "ah s**t".

She kept to her word let me tell you when that woman moved she was like a goddess. It didn't matter the beat of the music she flowed perfectly to each song. "Hey Sam, do you think I could get in trouble for not accepting Adaline?" I knew he knows more about the history of the wolves as he was fascinated from the time we were pups about laws and past wolves. So I hoped he would have some clue, I personally never met a wolf who had rejected their mate as our pack takes the mate bond seriously and no matter who your mate is you love and cherish them no matter what. "Your not seriously thinking of rejecting her are you?" He asked shocked. "I don't know dude, you know my stance on having a mate" I sat back feeling almost defeated. "Well from what Ive read of the wolves that have rejected their mates, it tended to driver their wolves mad and almost feral like, others were forced out of their packs to turn rouge." He paused thinking. "Others not long after rejecting died, most speculated it to be a curse or punishment from the Moon Goddess, but honestly there hasn't been much on it, it happens obviously but not often." He finished looking at me as if he was worried.

"You know mom and dad will kill you if you reject her right?" Holden cautiously chimed in. "ESPECIALLY since she has been through what dad had and mom has been hinting about wanting grand pups for oh since you turned 18" He laughed. "f**k, this is all just so damn complicated, this is not what I wanted, I don't know what to do, she has a kid, she's been married. SHES HUMAN. How am I to overcome all of that" I practically yelled at them but they knew it wasn't directed at them. "Dude, who cares? She is your mate, your other half, the one you are MENT to be with for the rest of your life, to help you guide out pack and make sure it is ran the way it should. I for one will follow her, protect her and claim her as my Luna." Holden stated proudly. "I too accept her as my Luna" Sam added. "Woah Holden I accepted a speech like that from Sam but you?" I looked at him astounded. "What? I mean I know Im the trouble maker, the little brother who gets away with more but still when I found Mikayla all bets were off my life changed she was all I cared about, then she got pregnant and it just doubled, its the best thing to ever happen to me." He had this look of pure love in his eyes as he said it.

I heard it before I turned to look in their direction, "she said back the hell off buddy before I make you regret the day you were born, do you know who I am, or who she is?" I saw Heather have a main held by his neck with her body protectively in front of Adaline. "f**k" I growled, "YES LETS GO BOYS" hollered Holden. I huffed can I get one good day I thought to myself.
