Barrett's POV

I've been awake for almost an hour now but I don't want to move and risk waking Adaline up as she is curled up next to me. Shaw has not stopped playing the images of last night over and over again in my head."Dude knock it off, I am not trying to go farther than what she is ready for. If you don't quit she might get upset and we could risk losing her." He huffed "I cant help it, mate is amazing and I want my mate's wolf". I understood his frustration. Most wolves who have mates are able to communicate with their mates wolf. With a human, though, they have to wait for them to be turned. "I know buddy, but give it a little more time she needs to be ready to be comfortable. She started to stir next to me, "Good morning beautiful", I said, stroking her cheek. She yawned and smiled wide "Morning, that was the best night's sleep I have ever had". She sat up and stretched. "Go get ready and we will head down to breakfast". I walked towards the door. "I'll be across the hall, I'll meet you back in 10."

I did my quick morning routine, shower, shaved and got dressed. I mind-linked everyone earlier that we would start training later today. I wanted as much alone time with Adaline I could get. I put on my navy blue shirt and gray shorts. I walked into Adaline's room, I should have knocked. I'm not mad. I didn't but I should have. There she was walking to her closet in a towel that barely covered her ass with her hair dripping wet down her back. My Goddess help me. "I'll be right out" came from the closet. I was secretly hoping she would come out completely naked. She walked out in a navy tank and black leggings. "I saw that you were wearing workout gear so I figured that was on the agenda, am I right?" She is perfect. "Yes, usually we do training around 5:30 then breakfast after, but today we're going to take it easy. Sam said the boys are already downstairs eating." She lit up hearing that "Okay I am ready lets go!" She practically raced down the stairs.

We got to the dining hall and everyone stopped to bow "Good morning everyone, I hope you all slept well and I am looking forward to seeing how the day goes here. Enjoy your breakfast everyone!" Wow, I'm shocked, not shocked, mad, but shocked proud that she took the incentive to greet everyone first. She will be a great Luna when she is ready. "Good morning Alpha, Luna" came from everyone. "MOMMA" came a little but loud voice "can we stay the night again today? I want to play with Sawyer more." Everyone laughed at his little outburst. "James" scolded Adaline, uh oh mom didn't like that much. I placed my hand on her back to ease her. "What did I tell you about yelling across rooms like that?" I picked him up because he looked so sad. "Sorry momma."

"It's okay baby but just remember to be respectful of those around you, and I don't mind staying again, but it's up to Barrett here to decide." She gave me a flirtatious smirk, oh she's playing with fire now. "Please, Barrett I love it here." I mean how could I say no "Of course little man you can stay as long as you like, maybe even forever" I smirked back at her, gotcha. She just smiled. We all sat, ate and talked about the kids. Lizzy and another omega came to scoop the boys up to go play as we made our way out to the training grounds. Adaline looked in awe as we walked outside. She didn't get a chance to see everything yesterday, so I made a mental note to show her around properly today. Our training grounds are further back behind the pack house near the woods. We needed a large space because we trained the ranked members, guards and warriors all in the morning. Teens and ranked kids train later after school. It was run by my two head warriors, Seth and Anthony. Seth is Heather's older brother, since they were trained by my father's head warrior starting at 4, I saw it fit he lead. Anthony is another warrior's son. He is extremely powerful and he is in charge of introducing new moves and making sure everyone has it right. The teens will train until they turn 18 and decide what they want to do. Our training is open to everyone as we feel it best to know how to defend ourselves, especially if there ever was an attack, but we don't make it mandatory.

I stepped onto the middle of the field as I normally do before we start to tell them anything that is new and let them know any new announcements. "Good morning everyone." They all bowed "Morning Alpha" came in unison. "Today we started a little later because we are going to just do some light sparing and practice any new moves Anthony has. As you all know now, Adaline is my mate and your future Luna". I smelled her scent getting stronger near me as I noticed she came to stand beside me. She knew already what she needed to do and she was making it known that she was here, proud again. "Now you all know she is human, so that is why we are doing the basics today. You are to show her the respect she deserves as your Luna. We will not have any issues. Do I make myself clear?" I let my alpha aura out strong, they couldn't help but to bow to it. "Yes Alpha" they all said again. "Good now, we're going to pair up, I'll be making my rounds. Adaline, I would like you to be with Heather and Mikyala today. I'll come check on you in a bit". She smiled, nodded and headed to the girls, who immediately got into a stance and started showing her some moves. I walked over to Seth and another warrior, sparing, as Anthony was with someone showing them all a new move. "Anthony, Seth, may I speak to you both for a moment?" They nodded to their partners who grouped together and came over.

"What's up Barrett?" Seth asked, now he was built. Seth looked like Heather with dark curls on top of his head, he was more tanned up though, as he stayed outside most of the time on patrol or just on watch. But he was built like a professional line backer. He is one who I even have trouble taking down. Anthony was pretty close in size but a little shorter, however for what he lacked in height, he gained in speed. He was one of the fastest wolves in our pack. "I need you two to come to my office later. We are having a meeting and it is important that you attend. Also, I want to assign one of you to Adaline for a little while, at least, until she is comfortable enough as a wolf, maybe even after as well. So I'll have you two decide who it will be." I don't like the idea of another male around her. But I know these two would never step that boundary and they are the best outside myself, Sam, Holden and Heather. "I'll do it alpha, Seth has a mate and newborn at home. I don't want to take him away from that more than he already does." Anthony had a point, everyone was starting families. I need to be more mindful. "Thank you Anthony, but don't you have a mate as well?" He got a little nervous thinking about her. I couldn't help but laugh. "Yes but she is at college, so she really doesn't make it home much unless its a break, it will be okay and she will understand that I am protecting our Luna, it will be my honor." Thank the Goddess I have some of the most accepting pack members. "Thank you both I appreciate everything you do, go ahead and get back, I am going to see how my girl is doing?" I heard them chuckle "Oh I don't think you have to worry alpha she just took my sister down," Seth was a fit of laughter now I turned and saw Adaline shocked staring down at Heather, what the hell?
