CHAPTER TWO

Arianna couldn't hold back her tears, the day’s events replaying in her mind. From losing the contract to her cheating boyfriend. She needed a break, a momentary escape, a distraction. The image of their betrayal burned into her thoughts. “Excuse me ma’am, where are you heading to ?” The driver asked for the fifth time “I will stop at the next station.” An hour later the taxi pulled over and Arianna came down. She took a stroll hoping to bask in the cool evening air, but it did little to quell the storm raging within. Desperate for comfort, she dialed her cousin, Emily seeking a lifeline. But the call went straight to voicemail. Alone and devastated, she wandered the streets until she found herself directly opposite a neon-lit club. After moment hesitation, she crossed over to the other side and in a twinkle of an eye a car appeared in front of her but was quick to hits the brakes. The crowd panicked at the sight of the incident. Arianna was on the floor with her hand over her head. The owner of the car came out of the passenger seat to where she was. “Are you okay?” He asked Shivering and scared, Arianna looked up to see a familiar sea-blue eyes staring down at her. “Miss Arianna Kent?” The man recognized her instantly. “Coffee guy?” Arianna blurted out. It was the guy from outside the coffee shop earlier this morning. “Are you okay?” He asked again as he helped her off the ground. “I am so sorry, my driver didn't see you crossing the road.” Arianna nods her head, trying to avoid looking at him as tears stream down her face. He glanced at her one more time, she wasn't as bright as she was when he met her this morning. Her soulful brown eyes were dull, her hair was in a mess, and she's still wearing the dress from earlier. He placed his hand on her left cheeks urging her to look at him “Are you okay?” He asked for the third time with so much sincerity. Without being able to hold back her tears she burst into tears. He placed her on his shoulders as she cried. After few minutes, she looked up at him “I am sorry, I ruined your shirt again.” She pointed at his shoulder, his white shirt was smeared with a little bit of black eyeshadow. “It's fine. Where were you heading to?” She gave a nudge towards the club. “I was heading towards that building.” “So am I. Shall we?” He held out his arm for her. She took it and they walked side by side to the club. The bouncer held the door open as they walked in, the loud music and chatter enveloping her like a warm, chaotic embrace. Instantly a young lady dressed in some slutty outfit walked up to them and whispered into his ear. “It is nice to see you again, Mr Killian McLeod.” She said giggling, while placing subtle kissing on his earlobe. “He came with a guest tonight, let him be”. They both turn around to see the owner of the bar walking up to them. The lady blew hair kisses towards Arianna before leaving. “Hello pretty Lady, My name is Donald but everyone calls me dawg.” “This is not the time, Dawg.” Killian said to him with a warning. “He is always so uptight. How do you cope with him.” Arianna gave him a shy smile. “Come with me.” They followed dawg up the stairs to a more secluded part, he opened the door which was made with glass and Killian smiled when he saw the happy look on Arianna's face. “This room is beautiful.” “Thank you. This is for our VIPs and lucky for you, you came with one today.” He pointed at Killian. “Enjoy your night.” He slid the door close which minimized the uptown beat coming from downstairs. The room was small, decorated with beautiful lightning, there was a couch and a round table. Arianna peered through the glass door watching everyone dance to the beat downstairs. “Don't worry they can't see us.” Killian assured her as if he could read her mind. He gestured for her to sit and drew the curtains down. “Look much better.” He said to her Arianna smiles sheepishly. “I am sorry once again and thank you.” “Yeah sure. Do you want to talk about it?” “I was just having a day.” Arianna informed him “How bad was it? Because it definitely looks more than just a bad day.” Two servers came with two bottles of whiskey and then a cocktail—s*x on the Beach, a drink that felt oddly appropriate given the circumstances. They gave a slight bow before leaving. “Want a shot.” He offered her a glass and she took it in one gulp. The alcohol did its job, burning its way through her system, dulling the pain and loosening her inhibitions. “Want another?” She nodded. “You still haven't told me how bad your day was.” “Don't patronize me, Mr….” “It's Killain, call me Killian.” “It's nothing serious. I don't want to bore you with my story.” “Try me.” He leaned back on his chair with his hands crossed over his chest. Arianna took a few more shots before speaking. “I caught my boyfriend with a colleague at her house.” “Boyfriend issues uh?” Killain took a shot “Hold on.” A few more shots in and she begins to cry. “They have been together for a year, he has been lying to me for a whole year. ” “How long have you guys been together?” “About 5 years, I have been dating him since college.” She looked up to see Killain staring at her with a concerned look on his face. “Don't give me that look. I don't want that pity look.” Arianna shot back at him. She made a pout “Have you ever cheated on your girlfriend?” Her pouting caused a shift in Killian and he took three more shots before he could answer “I don't have a girlfriend.” “Haaaa, liessss, your kind lie a lot.” That word made Killain smirk. “Did I also mention I got rejected by one of the best Art industries in Paris. Nobody finds my work worthy.” She chirped. “You are an artist?” He asked “Yeahhhhh.” she slurred.. she lean in across the table “and I could paint your pretty face right now.” She placed her fingers on his jaw and trace his jaw. Killain held her wrist softly, “You shouldn't start what you can't finish.” The lines between right and wrong blurred as Arianna made her way to his seat, placing her buttocks on his lap. “Who says I want it to end.” She answered She leaned in closer, her body responding to the heat of the moment. Their lips locked in a fervent kiss, he pressed his tongue past her slightly parted lips to taste her properly. As he predicted before, he couldn’t help pulling her onto his lap as his body heat rose and his d**k grew rock hard— and soon they were in an elevator and then his hotel room.
