I decided to stray away from the party, so that I could think about everything. Suddenly, everything felt so heavy it was like the weight of the world rests upon my shoulders.
So I walked around the main hall, so I could try to find a place in where I could find solitude and think about the decisions that I am about to make. I came upon a small room that was somehow connected to the venue. Why would there be a small room?
The room that I had came upon had benches that were placed in front of the windows, so as you sat on the benches you would be able to see the waves of the ocean. I sat on a bench and looked at the dark waves clashing against each other.
There wasn't much to see, because it was night time, so it was dark. The moon's light had set its gaze inside the room, thus giving light inside the room.
As I stared at the moon. I thought: Now that I know that the Gods and Goddesses exists and they were always here; A question came across my mind: Do they listen to our prayers?
Maybe I could pray for wisdom to Athena? I would ask her on how do I make my own choices. Will she listen?
I closed my eyes and with everything that I got, I tried to reach the Goddess Athena. I spoke in a hush voice.
"Hello Athena, I don't know if you can hear me or not. I just want to seek help from you; If you were in my place and the fate of the world rests upon my shoulder what will you do? I mean I am not trained on how to handle things like this. I am just a normal human being, or supernatural. I don't even know who I truly am. What would you do? If you hear me, can you give me a sign?" I pleaded, while I stared into the night sky.
I then let out a sigh, then I felt an energy of a celestial being that entered inside the room. I turned around to see who it was. I saw it was Apollo, he was carrying two wine glasses and one bottle of wine.
"Are you following me? because everywhere I go you seem to suddenly appear out of nowhere."
He only chuckled at my retort, before taking a seat beside me on the bench, he walked towards me. He sat down beside me, I watched as he poured wine into the wine glass that he brought with him. He only halfway filled my glass with wine.
"So..." He started out awkwardly
In a questioning way, I raised one eyebrow at him and asked "Are you following me?" I repeated the question to him, because he avoided the last time
He defensively raised his arms up, as if he was a criminal that was asked by the cops to raised his arms."I just wanted to see if you're alright." He said. He rose his wine glass, it was a sign that he was asking me to have a toast with him.
I accepted his offer, and gently tap my wine glass against his wine glass. The sound of the wine glasses clinking against each other rang around the room. I drank the given wine to me, as I stared at the moon.
"So..." He trailed off in an awkward way. I looked at him, his physical features were really god-like, and with the moon's light embracing his features it made him more attractive. However I didn't feel any s****l desire for him. I only like him as my bestfriend.
I directly looked at his eyes indicating that I was serious at this moment, and I asked him. "Do you.. you know? Ever listen to your people's prayer? Whenever they would pray to you?"
With a look of surprise in his face, he looked at me.
"Never mind, you don't have to answer, it was wrong of me to do that." I diverted my eyes from him. My eyes just continued to look at the bright moon.
"I do listen to them, some doctors and nurses would pray to me and ask for help whenever they have a patient that is dying and no any other medicine can heal them. The thing is I never answered back to some of them." He answered truthfully.
"Why?" I asked him curiously.
"Unfortunately we can't interfere with a human's time. Because the Fates are incharge of the life span of a human and even supernaturals. Once someone is dying the Fates had cut their thread, it means the fates had decided that their time is over, and the God of Death: Thanatos will take their soul to the underworld." He solemnly said.
"That's why when someone dying we don't answer the calls of those who prays to us, so we could save them. We wish we could but it is up to the Fates." He said in a gentle voice as if he was telling a story.
"Since the king is curse, and when he is gone, the balance will be out of the place. That will result into a war and thousands of deaths, don't you think we are interfering with their deaths too?" I asked him, everything was still so blurry
"No we are not interfering with their deaths: The Fates decide on the death of the person and by Cronus placing a curse on the king it is like he controlled their deaths. He can't control the deaths of the humans and supernaturals because that is out of his 'godly field'" He air quoted the word 'Godly field'
"When Cronus controls the deaths of humans and supernaturals, even though he doesn't handle and control deaths. He will break the balance of the naturals, and everything will go back to square one. That is CHAOS." He emphasized the word chaos
"By controlling deaths, why will he break the balance?"
"Because he doesn't know how death works, he doesn't know which one will go. When many deaths occur, everything might go back to Chaos" He paused. Then he sighed, he stood up and walked towards the windows. He stared at the endless horizons of waves and skies.
"The cursed king you spoke of... are the fates trying to take him too?" I asked.
"No the Fates are doing everything they can to strengthen the thread of the king's life. The Fates need him to fully serve his time as a king to rule between humans and supernaturals. The Fates also wants him to live his life fully as a normal werewolf." He chuckled softly. He walked towards me and he gentle kneeled down in front of me.
"Which means?" I aksed, since I was a bit confused.
"Which means when he lives his life as a normal werewolf. He will have children with his future queen, grow old and die old with his wife. But of course challenges would be thrown in his way. It's not that easy to get a woman you know?" He laughed at me, while poked my sides so he could get a reaction out of me. However when he touched me at one spot on my waist, I jumped.
"I see someone is ticklish there." He smirked at me. While I only glared at him.
"You know in the years I lived my life, I never get to experienced true love. I was all alone, left in pain and suffering. I prayed to someone, to save me, I prayed for warmth, the comfort of home and love. However it never came." I openly said to him, I felt warm tears, cascaded from eyes to cheeks. My eyes weren't looking at the moon anymore, instead my eyes were looking at my hands that were on my lap. Then I felt a soft fabric, touched my cheeks.
I looked at Apollo who was holding a handkerchief and was wiping my tears away.
"I am sorry I cried, The king is lucky for the life that is ahead of him, and I don't want that to be taken away from him by some curse. I would do anything to help him." I said; With surprise his widened.
"Y-you mean?" He stuttered at the first word of his sentence.
"I will help him." I said with determination and a subtle hint of unsureness written on my face.
"Then by tomorrow you will come with us, and we shall explain everything to you." He said, with pride instilled in his eyes, as he looked at me.
I heard the soft padder of footsteps coming towards the door, when the door opened Hades, Poseidon and Zeus were all there standing, and their faces were etched with worry. When they saw that I was in the good hands of Apollo, they all sighed in relief.
"We thought something had happened to you." Hades said.
"Excuse me! I want to see her." A soft and girly voice had said.
"Calm down Aprhodite, we'll both get to see her." Another voice had said. However the voice was the total opposite of the girly voice. It was stern and very daring. Yet it was somehow comforting. The voice was then followed by a bark.
"LUIGI!" I exclaimed, Luigi jumped out of the woman's arms and ran towards me.
A woman was approaching me, she has these luscious blonde curls with golden highlights that made her hair shine against the night. Her hair had reached on her curvy waist, she has this beautiful soft and olive skin color. ALL IN ALL SHE IS THE EPITOME OF BEAUTY!!
"Hi! I am Aphrodite Goddess of love, beauty and blah blah." She reached out her perfectly manicured and delicate hands, indicating that she wants to do a handshake. I stood and carefully placed luigi on the floor. and took her hand, but before I could shake her hand, she pulled me towards her body, and hugged me.
"The moment I heard from Apollo that they finally found you, is a great news. I couldn't wait to meet you, so I had to go and see for myself." She said while still hugging me.
"Di, let her go." said the woman that Aphrodite was with. Aphrodite had let me go.
"I am Artemis, Apollo's twin sister." she said, she stuck her arm out for a handshake. I gladly accepted her handshake.
Artemis was different, her golden eyes were like the color of the full moon. Behind those eyes lies secrets and mysteries that had remained to be unsolved.
She gave off a mystique aura, her silver hair glinting against the moon light, her body wasn't like Aphrodite's. Aphrodite's body has soft curves, and Artemis' body was more lean. Nonetheless, both woman were really beautiful, is this what it's like to be a Goddess?
"So, shall we have tea or some hot chocolate?" Aphrodite asked, as she smiled at all of us.
"Hot Chocolate, Di" Apollo had said, it seems like, Di is their nickname for Aphrodite.
"She makes the best hot chocolates." Apollo had whispered from beside me.
"Let's go! let's bring the sweet doggo along" she excitedly said.
